Well you learn something new everyday, and sometimes those lessons are humbling. I took my foundation doe to a local rabbitry, Réalta Rabbitry, to meet a buck. When i got there and saw my doe in comparison to their Standard Rex does, it was very obvious that she was not a Standard Rex but a Mini Rex. Seeing the difference in pictures and reading the breed specifications and then seeing the difference in person was very educational. So on that note we bred purebred Mini Rex rabbits, lol.

I love being able to watch my kids interact with our rabbits. When kids are as young as this little tornado it definitely makes feeding time a little stressful lol, but both of my daughters love the bunnies. It has given me the opportunity to teach my oldest about the little miracles and tragedies that are part of life and nature, and my youngest gets to learn about helping, fine motor skills, and the joy of interacting with the outdoors. It's been a hard summer. We lost 3 rabbits to heat stroke so far, our foundation buck (Thumper), and both of our long haired rabbits (Brownie and Olaf), but you learn from your losses and do better. It's been awhile and life has been busy, so i wanted to give an update. These are the rabbits currently at our rabbitry.

Meet our newest additions Olaf (English Angora), Brownie (mystery breed), and our 2nd litter (Rexes). Our breeding doe has been doing a fantastic job taking care of her babies in this hot weather. She kindled on 6/19 and had 6 kits. All of them are alive and well, the 6th one is just out of frame, the kits like to move around to help regulate their body temperature. Please let us know if you have any ideas on what breed Brownie might be or if you have any questions about out Rabbitry.

We have some exciting changes coming to our Rabbitry. We are expanding our space with a small hybrid colony enclosure built by DH Ranch and Vegetation Management. We have some new bunnies, and you can now check out our website at, www.HaleHoppers.com. Stay tuned for progress on our facility expansion, as well as pictures of our new bunnies.

We have 3 standard Rex bucks looking for new hay. They are 12 weeks old, have excellent temperaments (they will let me cut their toe nails without burito wrapping, covering their eyes, or flipping them on their backs). They are well socialized as well, sonthey would be excellent as pets or sires. They are charlies (90% white fur), so if you are breeding and want your kits to have broken coat patterns, these guys would be perfect. This is the last chance to discuss before they go to camp. It's official! Our Rabbitry has been registered with the American Rabbit Breeders Association. On top of that our first litter is healthy and growing fast! We'd like ya'll to meet the babies from our first litter. They are 3 weeks old, so 5ish weeks they are weaned. They aren't all named yet and we'll do an update in the next week or so with temporary names and sexes on these little guys.

Hello everyone, I'd like to introduce you to our rabbits. At the moment we have a breeding pair. Thumper is our buck, and Flower is our doe (1st and 2nd pictures respectively). The third picture is our first litter and a very patient Flower. Our kits are 3 weeks old and at least 5 of the 7 will be available when they are weaned (8-12 weeks).
