Bear has been in our care since he was safely caught! We will definitely miss him when he leaves on Monday. We opened our facility to help with scared rescue dogs who can’t stay in a normal facility. Bear definitely proves why we opened up our place. Can’t wait for this boy to be back to his family. Brandy Ross thank you for trusting us to take care of your sweet boy!

Russell is fully crate trained and potty trained in his foster home. Russell does well walking on a leash. Russell would love a play mate to run around and play with. Stay is a very important behavior for dogs to know. It gives them an off switch in the house, in public, and around people. We work with a lot of service dogs and it is very important that they can go in to different settings and stay in one place when told! But it is still important for every dog to have a good stay.

We would like to bring it to all of our clients attention that Victor Dog Food had a huge recall last week. If your dogs are on Victor please switch them to a different brand till they get this figured out. We had a couple personal dogs sick from the recall. We also want to address the concern with the new respiratory illness going around. We are aware of the situation and are in close contact with several vets. We are taking the precautions to make sure everyone stays healthy by disinfecting everything everyday and not accepting any dog that is showing illness. Please understand though that even with precautions anytime dogs are commingling in groups you run the risk of illnesses.

I hope everyone is doing well. We greatly apologize for not posting in a while. We have our facility up and running East of town on almost 40 acres where we offer boarding, board & trains, and daycare. We hope to see some new faces these upcoming months and love seeing our reoccurring clients every week.

We now are CPR and First Aid certified for pets. Our hope is we soon will have everyone who works for us to be certified but that will take time. We are happy to be back from our conferences and seeing your pups every day. We just had an opening for overnight care during Thanksgiving so reach out if you need care as our holiday spots fill up fast!

We are headed to another conference on Monday! We have 3 amazing pet care providers that will be helping out while we are out of town. We have been really busy with all the client pups and love seeing them everyday. We are going to miss working with them while we are out of town. Happy 4th of July from our family to yours. Keep all those pups safe during this holiday while the fireworks are going off. Make sure to keep your dogs inside and give them a high value treat like a busy toy filled with yummy food and peanut butter to keep them distracted from the scary noise happening. If you know your pup is scared of loud noises try giving them a calming treat or CBD before the evening events happen. We care about your dogs and want to make sure they are safe and taken care of during a scary time. Shelters are already full and gets lots of stray dogs in after the 4th of July. Enjoy your 4th of July and help your pups enjoy it safely inside.

Making Tracks Dog Training’s main passion is rescue dogs. We created our business around helping the fearful, shy, and hurt rescue dogs that need a little bit extra care and supervision while owners our out of town. Right now we have 3 different foster dogs under our care while they look for new homes. We would love to see them get the home they deserve and need. We have Jovell with who is a 10 month old lab border collie mix. She loves to play, loves water, and loves to be around people. She is potty trained, kennel trained and knows some basic obedience. She is working on jumping and coming when called. Through we have Bruno who is a Pit Bull just under a year old. He loves playing with other dogs and loves to hangout with people. He is crate trained potty trained and walks well on a leash. He knows sit, down, and shake. He was dumped a park and All Breed pulled him from the shelter. He will be up for adoption in about two weeks after we learn more about him. We also have Red who is a Lab mix. Red is up for adoption through San Luis Valley Animal Welfare Society. He came in as a stray and got spooked at his foster home so was loose for about two weeks. We were able to slowly build his trust. He has since been in a foster home and is doing amazing. He loves to play and hangout outside. He would do best in a home with a confident dog to help him through life. He is potty trained and crate trained!! We are officially leaving town tomorrow. We will not be answering phones or messages till June 5th. We hope everyone has a safe memorial weekend with their pups. We will definitely miss your pups while we are out of town. We are hoping when we get back we can start interviews to hire a new contracted trainer to help meet all our client needs.

Update: No one has claimed him and with our client schedule we could not keep him in our care. He is at HSPPR and we will keep an eye on him in case we need to have a rescue pull him. His ID number is A1582838. Today we found this dog while out with some clients dogs. The pup was found off Fortman Avenue near the park. He is so sweet and gets along with other dogs. He will be staying in our care till we can find the rightful owner. Please share and let us know if you know where this sweetie lives.

We hope everyone is having a great start to their summer!! We have started our group hikes up to Stratton Reservoir. It is so fun seeing all the dogs play in the water together and be able to work on recalls. This summer will be busy for us so start to book overnight care, training walks, and training sessions so we don’t fill up before you get on our schedule. We are hoping to hire at least one more trainer on to help with training walks. We will not be able to answer phones except for emergencies May 28th to June 4th because I personally will be out of the country. Contact us soon so we can get you on the schedule for June before we fill up. We love hanging out with all your pups during the summer and give them consistency while you are out of town or on day trips.

We use to walk Snow before she found an amazing foster to take her in and give her the love she needed. Snow is a very good girl and loves to go on walks and run around. We would love to see her get the home she has dreamed of!! Please share and let’s get this sweet girl a home.

We are on our way to Florida!! Nala one of our Service dogs is making the adventure with us. She has been on multiple business trips with us to show how with help dogs and people become a connected team. Training dogs takes a lot of time and effort but the bond is what matters. If you don’t have a good bond with your pup it makes training a lot harder because they have no reason to work for you. We have been working with a lot of dogs following up to this trip and hope all our clients do well while we are out of town learning more to support you. We are completely booked for training when we get back from our trip but please contact us and get on our May schedule.

I hope everyone and their dogs are enjoying this nice weather we have had over the past couple days!! We will be heading to Jacksonville Florida in April for a business workshop with the dog gurus. The workshop will give us much needed tools to better our business and find other animal lovers to join our team so we can better service you. We have three amazing people working for us right now but would like to expand our services and service area to better fit your needs. Merry Christmas to everyone!! Your pups make our day so much brighter each time we get to see them. Each and everyone is so special to us but we have a very special place in our heart for the rescue pups. Making Tracks Dog Training was originally founded to help families who had new rescue pups in need of care or training. We recently have started helping out multiple foster dogs in rescues who either need a place to stay or extra attention and training to help them be more adoptable. We are helping Conner an 8 month old pup with Sloppy Kisses Animal Rescue learn some basics and get more confidence around new things. We also have Snow a pit bull mix who is hoping to find a foster home to stay in till she can find her forever home. She is the sweetest girl and loves to give kisses. She has a lot of energy and needs to learn some manners which is where we can step in and help the foster who takes her. She is up for adoption through Black Forest Animal Sanctuary. Finally we have Maddie the collie mix who is actually in our care as a foster. She is so sweet and loves to cuddle. She has had a very hard life and would love to have a family to call her own. She will be up for adoption through Second Chance Animal Rescue Colorado. Please give one of these amazing dogs the second chance they deserve!!!!

We love seeing your dogs every change we get whether that is a training session, training walk, overnight care, drop in, or just an exercise walk around the neighborhood. We are here in Florida attending a service dog seminar with My Life Unleashed Dog Training & Luminary Service Dogs. We have already learned a lot and have one more day of the seminar before going to Magic Kingdom with the dogs. Today we learned all about psychiatric service dogs and the different tasks. There are so many different tasks that can be provided based on your needs!! We are hoping more people can learn about the needs service dogs can provide to people who may need a bit of extra support through a furry friend!! Nala my service dog has been a great partner through out this whole seminar and has been learning so much along side me.
