Ariel is a sweet, playful Great Pyrenees mix that was abandoned as a puppy. She had little function in either hind limb and dragged her legs behind her. She has gotten CT scans and surgical procedures to try to help fix her legs, with some success. However, we feel that we need to increase her physical therapy in order to best get her on all four feet. Unfortunately, when she tries to walk or run, her dragging limb often gets scraped up and starts to bleed, leading to pain and risk of infection. We found a relatively affordable (compared to high-end $50,000 models) canine hydro-treadmill model that we hope will allow her to exercise and grow stronger without causing damage or pain to her legs. Please help us raise the $2700 to purchase the treadmill and get Ariel on her feet!
The primary goal of Missy’s HEART is to prevent economic euthanasia and animal suffering by Helping Every Animal Receive Treatment. Ariel is a surrender under the care of Missy's HEART, and if she can get on all four feet she will be placed for adoption!
Little Odin is fighting for his life! This is some of the sad behind-the-scenes of Missy’s HEART. Odin was found by the road and surrendered to us. We are doing everything we can for him! Donations from people like you are funding his care!

Clementine was found in an abandoned building with her three kittens. She was originally very scared of humans, but she has been worked with quite a bit and is coming out of her shell. She has weaned her kittens and been spayed. Her most stunning feature is her beautiful feather-duster type tail. She is FIV positive but is asymptomatic. She will need to be placed in a single-cat household (or a household with other FIV+ kitties). If you are interested in adopting Clementine, visit www.missysheart.com/adoption-application.
Linea is a beautiful female cat with large eyes. She was originally a mother when she was found wandering outside. Her litter was successfully adopted but Linea is still looking for her forever home! She is very sweet, has been spayed, and is litter-trained. She is cautious around other cats, so she will need extra care and time to adjust if she is adopted into a multi-cat household. If interested in adopting, please visit missysheart.com/adoption-application.
Banjo is an older cat that used to roam around a local park. He was rushed to us by a concerned park-goer after he was attacked by something (either another cat or an opossum or raccoon). He had wounds along his back and scars from old injuries. Luckily, his wounds were not severe - and with some antibiotic and TLC, he is now ready to find his forever home! He has been neutered and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. He is very sweet, and craves attention and love! He can be quite vocal and often meows for attention! If you are interested in adopting Banjo, please visit www.missysheart.com/adoption-application.
Slingshot was surrendered after he was found injured and in pain after being hit by a car, with maggots on his back end. He had a severely broken tail and a broken leg. His tail had to be docked and his leg was in a splint for a short time. He is now ready to find his forever home! He does struggle a bit with constipation due to some lingering nerve damage at the base of his tail, but he is able to use the litter box without any other difficulties. If interested in adopting, please visit www.missysheart.com/pets-in-need or www.missysheart.com/adoption-application.
Amos is a pure white cat that was surrendered after being caught in a hunting trap on someone's property. Along with being underweight, he tested positive for FIV. He has gained weight and is currently asymptomatic His disease mat lay dormant for the rest of his life, but it is best that he join a single-cat household (or a household with other FIV kitties). He should make an excellent indoor companion. He has been neutered and uses the litter box.
Max is looking for his forever home! He has been neutered and has gained some weight since he was found. To apply for adoption, please visit www.missysheart.com/adoption-application. Help us spread the word!
Camel was found as a tiny kitten and brought to us because of his spinal deformity. We are working with Camel to get him strong enough to be ready for adoption!
Banjo has several wounds along his back that appear to be bite-marks. We do not know what got ahold of him, but we are very happy he is alive. Once he is all healed up and healthy, we will be placing him up for adoption.
