Things your therapist says
I had a blowout today. Thank you I’m watching movies with my son and looking forward to tennis tomorrow. What’s your self care right now?

🌿 Self-Care During Trauma Treatment 🌿

Healing from trauma is a journey, and taking care of yourself is a vital part of the process. While therapy and support systems are crucial, nurturing your mind, body, and spirit outside of sessions helps create balance and foster resilience.

✨ Take time to breathe deeply and be present.
✨ Prioritize rest and sleep.
✨ Engage in activities that bring joy or calmness.
✨ Allow yourself to feel emotions without judgment.
✨ Lean on loved ones for support.

You are worthy of care, compassion, and healing. 💛

🌟 Embrace Healthy Boundaries 🌟

Setting boundaries isn’t about building walls, it’s about finding the balance between protecting your well-being and nurturing relationships. 💖

🔹 Communicate Clearly: Express your needs and limits with kindness and clarity.

🔹 Respect Yourself: Value your time and energy. It’s okay to say no.

🔹 Self-Care First: Prioritize activities that replenish and nourish you.

🔹 Mutual Respect: Healthy boundaries foster respect and understanding in relationships.

🔹 Be Consistent: Stand firm in your boundaries; consistency is key.

Remember, it’s not selfish to take care of yourself. It’s essential. 🌿✨

"🌱 Embracing Healing after Narcissistic Abuse 🌱
Recovery from narcissistic abuse isn't just about healing wounds; it's about reclaiming your strength, your worth, and your voice.
It's a journey of self-discovery, of unraveling the lies and rebuilding your truth brick by brick.
It's about setting boundaries, honoring your boundaries, and surrounding yourself with love and support.
It's learning to trust yourself again, to listen to your intuition, and to celebrate your resilience.
And most importantly, it's about realizing that your worth was never defined by the abuser's words or actions.
To all survivors: You are warriors. You are deserving of love, respect, and happiness. Your journey may have started in darkness, but it will lead you to the light.
Together, let's empower each other, uplift each other, and create a future filled with healing and hope. 💖

Joy’s message for the day.
When someone shares a struggle don’t invalidate them by saying you understand.
Listen, validate feelings, and realize you don’t have to understand to show empathy and compassion.

Grief does not escape me simply because I’m a therapist. I have no secrets no avoid the pain despite being a d$&n good therapist. Grief is raw, real, painful, and shows up unexpectedly. It is present in times we held most dear. The Christmas Eve Service was so special to mom. I sobbed through it. I held a candle for her. I allow my children to see my emotions. It’s healthy to feel. There’s no timeline and no expectations. The more we loved- the more we grieve.

If you are grieving- be gentle with yourself. Do what you need to do. I hear And see you.
