We have had a busy year at APARC, and it's cost a good amount of money; especially due to the amount of vetting we put into all of our animals. This is our most recent vet bill, even showing we paid $1,000 but still owe $3,819.62. We would sincerely appreciate if our supporters could donate towards our bill either via our Giving Tuesday fundraiser (which doubles as Miranda's birthday fundraiser) or by donating directly to our veterinarian's office by calling Urbana Veterinary Clinic at (937) 653-7326 and letting them know you'd like to donate towards APARC's bill!

All donations are appreciated but so are shares! We can only hope you continue to do good recklessly, even if it is expensive sometimes!

šŸŽ„šŸŒ  Connorā€™s Christmas Wish! šŸŒ šŸŽ„

āœØA family of his very own! āœØ

Connor is the last of his litter thatā€™s left with us here at APARC and as much as his foster family loves him, they know his forever family is out there waiting for him. Connor is an absolute sweetheart who loves children and is even so gentle with them that the neighborhood children break into his backyard to visit him, and even though heā€™s excited heā€™s so smart he waits for the 18 month old to approach him first so that he wonā€™t scare them! He takes a small amount of time to warm up to adults, but children are the perfect bribe for winning him over. He also has a pretty severe case of RBF (itā€™s his breed combo, thereā€™s a lot of skin) so he often looks a little less than enthused in photographs unless heā€™s absolutely thrilled, we personally love that about him.

šŸ’™ 9 months old

šŸ’™ Pit/basset hound mix

šŸ’™ Roughly 70lbs

šŸ’™ Neutered

šŸ’™ Fully vaccinated (3 rounds) including rabies

šŸ’™ Heartworm negative

šŸ’™ Microchipped

šŸ’™ Housebroken - he may have some accidents as he transitions into his new home

šŸ’™ Crate trained - he does fine when no one is home but will pitch a fit if youā€™re home and break out

His adoption fee is $300

If youā€™re interested in adopting Connor please fill out a form here www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/OHAP/Dog and message us!

Meet and greets will take place in Clark County, OH.

These three sweet souls are still looking for their homes!

šŸ’™ Connor is a 9 month old male pit/basset hound mix who weighs roughly 70lbs. Heā€™s neutered, fully vaccinated (3 rounds) including rabies, and microchipped. Heā€™s housebroken, and used to being confined to a room while his foster family is out, and is good with dog, cats, and loves kids even those as young as 2 years old. Heā€™s a big, bumbly boy who loves to run and play in the yard and would do well with a family interested in hugs and kisses. His adoption fee is $300 and his meet and greet will take place in Clark County, OH.

šŸ©· Ella is a 9 month old female german shepherd/bernese mountain dog who weighs around 50lbs. Sheā€™s spayed, fully vaccinated (3 rounds) including rabies, and microchipped. She is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, good with other dogs, but will chase cats (she is trying to play but misreads the signals) and would do best in a high energy household - think a few kids with a fenced in backyard and they would all mutually benefit from playing together. Her adoption fee is $300 and her meet and greet will take place in Champaign County, OH.

šŸ§” Trixie is a 9 month old female german shepherd/bernese mountain dog who weighs around 60lbs. Sheā€™s spayed, fully vaccinated (3 rounds) including rabies, and microchipped. She is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, good with other dogs, cats, and older kids. Sheā€™s a shy, and reserved girl who would do well with an older family who enjoys hanging out, but donā€™t let her being shy fool you because once sheā€™s comfortable with you she loves to cuddle. Her adoption fee is $300 and her meet and greet will take place in Champaign County, OH.

If youā€™re interested in one of these lovebugs please fill out a form here www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/OHAP/Dog and message us.

Connor, our beloved goofball, strutted into the vet today for his big snip-snip adventure - we were a bit on edge when he had a tiny seizure, but like a true superstar, he bounced back!

This lovable fella is still on the hunt for his forever family, which is baffling because he's a bundle of joy. Heā€™s a social butterfly with other dogs, cats, and even those tiny humans ā€“ in fact, heā€™s a big fan of them! He knows the basics (though he occasionally plays hard to get with commands), and let me tell you, this pup can leap like a superhero when the mood strikes!

Connor is a 7 month old, neutered, male, pitbull/bassett hound mix who weighs over 50lbs already! Heā€™s had 3 rounds of vaccines plus rabies, and is microchipped. Heā€™s mostly housebroken but does still have some accidents, and would do best with a fenced in yard for him to run and play!

His adoption fee is $300

If youā€™re interested in adopting Connor please fill out this form www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/OHAP/Dog and message us!

šŸ’¢šŸ’¢šŸ’¢ EXPERIENCED PARVO FOSTER NEEDED šŸ’¢šŸ’¢šŸ’¢

This sweet pup was abandoned and has tested positive for parvo. He has shown slight improvement and begun eating today; however, he is still vomiting and suffering from bloody diarrhea. We would love to help support him, and hopefully save his life but in order to do that we will need a foster family willing to follow strict medical protocol and cleaning procedures.

If you're interested in fostering please fill out this form https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/OHAP/Dog and message us!

*** Please understand that his pup will require a lot of work and there will still be a risk of losing him. Also, please be aware that all dogs within your home will be required to be fully vaccinated and still isolation will be required. ***

Please note, he is not yet in our care.

Sometimes, it just doesnā€™t matter whether you vote red, blue, whatever.
Right now, we are watching, not only as brothers, sisters, mothers, children, neighbors, COMMUNITY; but AS A WORLD, what can happen when we let hate rule our brain, mouth, and heart.
There truly are amazing, kind, and genuine people in Springfield, Ohio. Ones that do not let fear rule their lives.
Unfortunately, there are also those who choose to let their ignorance and fear run rampant, and not only that, SPREAD it to all who will lend an ear.
Pets; cats, dogs, etc., are not being targeted, hunted, and/or eaten in Springfield, Ohio. This is false information, literally MADE UP, and couldnā€™t be further from the truth. Loud voices full of hate and lies have utilized social media, the NEWS, friend groups, and more to just flat-out TARGET Haitians in the community, and furthermore, POC in general.
These individuals, who just keep yelling and screaming about ā€œthe petsā€ becoming food (and more; taking jobs, housing etc.) are the same people who get scared when a POC enter a gas station. Or look at them on the street. Or attempt to ask directions.
The truth is, there is a huge stray, unwanted, and owned animal issue in Springfield. Owners find themselves in a situation where maybe their dog/cat is injured and they canā€™t afford the vet bill, or maybe their animal had an unwanted litter, maybe the animal just isnā€™t working out, or is aggressive. There are extremely LIMITED resources for the residents of Clark County in owned animal situations.
So, owners think the only option is to let their animal go. Maybe it will find a good home, they never are hoping for the worst. They hope their animal has that storybook ending of anything better than what was happening or WOULD happen in the ownerā€™s mind if they kept them.
Mostly, the above scenario is for canines in the county. But there is a very real problem with the cat population as well. Dealing with feral and/or stray cats is not for the weak. It is endless, expensive, dangerous, and thankless. Rescues do what they can to help cat communities, and private citizens try to help care for cat colonies that are established and pay for their food, medical, etc., themselves.
But again, there are LIMITED resources. For cats in Clark County, there are almost NONE. So, rescues raise money, as much as they can, often with little luck. They post on social media, tirelessly for people to sponsor their spays/neuters/adoptions/food, donate to their general fund, foster, SHARE. ANYTHING to help any of their costs so they can continue the seemingly endless fight.
THEN, something like what is going on now happens. The whole world is looking at us! And all they can think or see is: WHAT a wild and RIDICULOUS place, and they either BELIEVE the lies that pets are being consumed, or they just canā€™t believe that a community (because outsiders looking in ARE lumping us together) would actually believe what is being said.
What they arenā€™t seeing is YOU. The caring, genuine person, who believes we are all in this together. They arenā€™t seeing the REAL problem with the animals of Clark County. The overcrowded shelters, the rescues out of fosters, the people who just donā€™t have another cent to buy food for their cat colony. They don't see that Springfield is NOT the hate filled center of the universe.
It is unacceptable that our community is dangerous for Haitians. It is unacceptable that our community is dangerous for POC. It is unacceptable that our community is dangerous for our goverment employees.
The hate is just SO loud.
But you know what? WE CAN BE LOUD TOO. Not only for the animal community, but for the PEOPLE who are directly being targeted and flat out put in harms way with the racist lies and agenda being pushed. BE LOUD FOR THE HAITIANS AND POC IN YOUR AREA. Speak up and educate. BE LOUD FOR THE ANIMALS IN YOUR AREA. Speak up. EDUCATE. Our community of pets and our PEOPLE need to feel safe, need to be uplifted, and feel like the SQUAWKING from the racists is few and far between the LOVE and PEACE they feel from us.
Do not let this hate spread all over Ohio. Ohio has had hate flying for long ENOUGH.
You've had enough. We've had enough. LOVE IS LOUDER ANYWAY.
We are releasing shirts for purchase with Feral Hoss. They make a bold statement on the front. And on the back, list out direct resources in the area for YOU to help (Iā€™m sure the list will grow, so stay tuned on that!). Proceeds from these shirts will go two places: divided between all rescues/resources for the animals of Clark County, and directly to support assistance with the Haitian community that are being impacted NOW.
Feral HOSS will be going live this morning around 7 AM to go over our statement, how you can help, and more! Bring yourself, your questions, and plan to HELP

Who remembers Bob and Howard!?

These two boys joined the APARC family nearly an entire year ago and had such a severe parasitic infestation we thought weā€™d lose them; but, thankfully they found an amazing foster who nursed them back to health - and now has decided to adopt them!

Congratulations Jordan, your bravery will go down in history!

Do Good Recklessly

Anything's Pawsible ā€“ Animal Resource Center (APARC) was formed by Katherine Stewart and Miranda Lloyd, two women who wholly embrace the phrase ā€œDO GOOD RECKLESSLYā€ both in their actions and mentality. Katherine (Kat) is the shelter manager for a local dog shelter which handles countless cruelty cases, and Miranda is a volunteer for multiple rescues/shelters along with managing a large Facebook based community that focuses on reuniting lost and found animals with their owners; although they have seen many heart-wrenching situations involving the mistreatment of animals both Kat and Miranda believe in the inherent good around them. Their belief is that with community involvement, and compassion no problem is insurmountable; some issues may take longer to correct, but that does not mean that the situation cannot be changed if true effort is made to change it. So please do not let the possibility that someone is not as altruistic as yourself endanger your compassion ā€“ strive to do good recklessly!

APARC is still in it's infancy and at this time is primarily handling cats both through TNR of feral community cats and care for injured and orphaned cats which are then placed up for adoption; but; intends on handling dogs as soon as they are able to obtain a facility properly equipped to safely harbor and handle dogs.
