PetPromise is a non-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization. All of the pets available for adoption are cared for in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted. We are a no-kill animal welfare organization and does not support euthanasia as a method of population control. We help many pets that other shelters and

rescues would consider "unadoptable" due to age, medical condition, or breed. PetPromise is supported solely by public and private donations and volunteer fundraising.

HAPPY UPDATE! Thank you to everyone who helped save Phoenix. It was a difficult surgery but the surgeon at MedVet said it couldn’t have gone better! He was completely blocked and unable to eat or digest food because of the blockage. And he was going to die if we didn’t do something. They removed the blockage from his intestines. And he is eating like crazy and he feels so much better! If you want to help us cover the cost of his surgery and help other cats and dogs that need emergency surgery, please donate to our Emergrncy Medical Fund! These angels thank you! ❤️

Sweet little Ruby was born on May 2, 2024, along with her two sisters and two brothers under a chicken coop. When she was barely two weeks old Ruby’s Mana left her kittens and something happened because she didn’t come back.
The neighbors heard kittens crying under the coop but there was nothing that they could do….until that night when the babies started to crawl out trying to find food and warmth. It was very cold that week especially for May. Ruby was the first to make it out. Her eyes were barely open, she was cold and starving. Her litter mates were close behind, barely able to walk…wet, cold and hungry.

When PetPromise arrived after hearing about these kittens, little Ruby was the first one to cry out when we picked her up…she nuzzled into our blanket…wet and cold and crying. One of her brothers had died before we arrived…and the second little boy died as we raced to get them help.

For the first 7 days after they were rescued we didn’t know if any of the three little girl kittens would live. They were all starving and weak…too weak to drink from a bottle…they had to be syringe fed. Every day we held our breath hoping they would hang on fur another day and grow…and they did.

Ruby was the biggest of the three girls…she was the Bengal mix with her perfectly spotted belly and her brown tiger stripes. She was the first to love people and the first to our…and she purred every time she was picked up even as a baby. She was the smart, active little one…learning to climb up the bed to cuddle with a person, the one to lead the others to the warm bed for sleep. She is the gentle cuddler that loves to play but will choose to come over and sit quietly with a person if you are there. As soon as you pick her up she purrs and purrs. She isn’t happier than when she is with a person cuddling.
Ruby is the sweet beauty of the litter and is a very special little girl. If you can open your heart and home to her and promise to keep her safe and loved for the next 15-20 years, please complete an on-line Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/223107373504044

🐈‍⬛❤️‍🩹Poor Baby Salem can't catch a break ! He’s got an upper respiratory infection, an infected eye, he's anemic and dehydrated ….but he just keeps purring for us. He’s a little fighter…but we (and the vets are seriously worried about his eye. He’s seen teleobdifferent vets and his eye is getting worse. Of course we’re all concerned and don’t want him to lose his little eye. He may need to see a specialist. Please consider making a donation to help us help him! Any little bit helps !

Little Beatrice (“Baby Bea”) was born on May 2, 2024, along with her two sisters and two brothers under a chicken coop. When she was barely two weeks old Bea’s Mama left her kittens and something happened because she didn’t come back.

The neighbors heard kittens crying under the coop but there was nothing that they could do….until that night when the babies started to crawl out trying to find food and warmth. It was very cold that week especially for May. Baby Bea’s eyes were barely opened…and she was so tiny. She was the littlest one and looked much smaller and younger than her sisters. She wasn’t able to follow the others out and had to be pulled out of the wet muddy area where the kittens were living under the coop. She was so cold, wet and starving. Her litter mates were also barely able to walk…wet, cold and hungry.

When PetPromise arrived after hearing about these kittens, little Beatrice was being pulled out from under the coop crying. The was almost stiff she was so cold. One of her brothers had died before we arrived…and the second little boy died as we raced to get them help.

For the first 7 days after they were rescued we didn’t know if any of the three little girl kittens would live. And we were most worried about Baby Bea. She was so much smaller and weaker than her siblings. They were all starving and weak…too weak to drink from a bottle…they had to be syringe fed. Every day we held our breath hoping they would hang on fur another day and grow…and they did.

Little Bea is still the “baby” of the litter...but her heart is the BIGGEST of all. She sees a person and she runs to be picked up. She loves to play and tumble...but when it comes time for bed, this little girl is right on a person purring and so happy just to be with you. Bea looks like a micro mini little black bear. We all love her and know that she is going to make someone very happy! She loves being held and with people. She must sleep with a person!

If you can open your heart and home to her, please fill out an adoption application on our website!

FOSTER needed for CHANCE!!!
Chance is a sweet pittie boy (just under a year old—-so still a puppy himself). He is at a Kentucky shelter and because he has been there so long he has been moved to the euthanasia list. He is good with other dogs, sweet, and friendly. He is neutered and vaccinated. The staff loves him. They said that he is not reactive to cats and will be testing him tomorrow to confirm. They contacted us for help. They love him and are begging us to save him from being euthanized. We would like to bring him to Columbus as part of the apetPrimise Program. To do that, we need a dog foster home to foster him. If you can foster (or know someone who may be interested) please start the approval process by completing a Foster Application on our website or in comments below.

Please help Phoenix. This little 6-year-old boy was waiting for a home when he started to feel bad. He began losing weight and we didn’t know why. Today via ultrasound they found the problem: There is a large mass blocking his colon. It is a single mass and the treatment is surgical removal of the tumor and reconnection of the intestine. It’s a complex surgery and it will cost $4,500-$5,500. But it can give him the chance to have a long happy life. Please help us give this little guy a chance. He will need surgery tomorrow to unblock his intestines. It could save his life. To help donate by clicking the link below:

You can help us save Phoenix’s life. Sweet Phoenix can‘t eat, he was throwing up, he was slowly starving to death. His colon was blocked with a tumor…and he will die if this tumor isn’t removed. Any donation will help us get a step closer to being able to provide this surgery for Phoenix and...

Sweet Tillie - needs a foster or adopter , her foster Mom's living situation is changing on July 29th and she needs somewhere to go 😩😩.... All of her siblings have been adopted how could this sweet girl keep getting overlooked !! Here is what her foster mom has to say about her ♥️♥️

Looking for a silly, sweet, and playful cat? Tilly is the one for you! Tilly is a beautiful tortie likely born in December 2023. She's very friendly and loves other cats, dogs, and people. She is obsessed with springs, string/wand toys, the laser pointer, and could play all day long. She also enjoys bird watching, sitting by an open window, and cat TV. She is a vocal kitten and will happily engage in conversation with you. Coming home? She'll meet you at the door. Walking around the house? She's coming along! Cooking in the kitchen? She's hanging out with you! Tilly is a smart kitten, she knows her name, comes when she's called, and excels at treat puzzles. Not in the mood to play, she's more than happy to chill on the couch with you or cuddle up in bed. She's an avid biscuit maker and is quick to whip up a fresh batch.

Sweet one year old Brie - is still waiting on her forever home . All 5 of her babies have been adopted , now it's just her . She wants to be the queen of her own castle ♥️ , she doesn't get along with her foster moms resident cats so she is living in a room alone. She loves people so isn't very happy about it ! We could also do a foster to adopt to see if you get the love vibes from each other 🥰🥰 Apply at

UPDATE: our little “Jane Doe” is cuddling with her foster Mom and Dad tonight. Even though she was abandoned at Columbus Humane by her owners, because a family volunteered to foster her she is happy and safe. Thank you for helping this girl when she needed us most!

URGENT REQUEST (again!). A PetPromise cat (adopted previously) was DUMPED at Columbus Humane last night: left in a carrier outside. We are trying to figure out who she is (her chip is not registered and we are going through our adoption contracts to determine who she is based on her microchip…we think she was adopted pre: 2015.).

But we need to pick her up and she needs a safe foster home to decompress and be safe. She is very very scared….we cannot imagine who would do this to this sweet girl. Can anyone foster this girl (if she was adopted prior to 2015, she is at least 10-11 years old and dumped during the night like trash! ). PLEASE!!!😢
