The blue replacement lizard has arrived and is a huge hit. We are still waiting for the green alligator to get here. Excuse the muddy floor
We are having a run on Yorkies
These talented young ladies from the Avalon Children's Choir were our carolers today. The residents loved their performance which brought some of them to tears. Thank you Susan and singers for making this a special day
I've created a monster. She has gone from hiding behind anything near, to "you must hold me at all times pleeeeease!"
A huge thank you to Susan and Karyn who came out and wrapped and allowed me to climb out of pure chaos
Marysville OH - Available for adoption. 1 year old Sonny Boy, is a Cocker/Poodle mix. He is 17# He is a smart boy, who loves to play but can tone it down and chill out around the house. He has been fine around other dogs and hasn't had any interest in cats that he has seen outside. He is very friendly with everyone he meets. He has not been around children, he would likely knock a little one over. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, dewormed, neutered and microchipped. He will need some work on housetraining but he is a smart guy and will learn quickly

For the past few months we have been talking with a senior regarding the well-being of her very senior dog. Over the weekend we were contacted to come and pick him up and take to be euthanized. He hadn't eaten in days, had a seizure and wasn't acting normal. When we picked him up he was very thin and his heart was beating a little erratically. Once we got him out to the car, he turned into a different little dog. He was bouncing around, looking out the window and acting pretty normal. We continued to the Vet and by the time we got there, I was not feeling comfortable euthanizing without knowing exactly what was going on. His exam showed a heart murmur, blood work looked good except for low blood sugar and when offered some tasty treats he wolfed it down. Obviously he left with me and is now hanging out at my house. Yes, his owner is aware. So far he is doing well. He is eating like a champ, loves wandering in the yard, and loves curling up in the bed. I think he is one of those cases we run across where the stress and emotional state of the owner transfers over to the pet. I think he was experiencing so much stress that he just stopped eating, resulting in a seizure from the low blood sugar.
It's really hard to work with this guy in the office. TOY OBSESSED
Three new, literal balls of fur, have arrived. They are sweet little things but need a lot of work done. Starting with grooming Wednesday
We had an unexpected emergency intake last night. An owner was going to euthanize this puppy for poor behavior. This video is an example of the life this dog was living. Mental abuse of pets is a real thing and will easily ruin a dog. Caution- video is heartbreaking. Once Max has some time to settle in, get neutered etc. He will be looking for a patient, positive training, calm-natured person to call his own
It's been busy here this morning, cookies and candies have been being delivered
This is how a respite care kitty says "nooooo, don't go"
