3 weeks from today is my surgery! I am excited to no longer have constant pain. I am still nervous for the surgery and the healing. I am unsure what to expect. I know I cannot rush the healing, however I am not good at just relaxing and not working. I am hopeful it is less damaged then I fear so I will not have to take as much time off work.

I have 172 dogs scheduled between today and surgery. Yes you read that right. I really do not have anymore wiggle room to add anyone else to my schedule.

While I heal I am revamping somethings.

1st- salon hours

When I open post surgery I will have different hours. The last few months I have been offering different hours to accommodate travel times. I will still have different options other than the 8am-to 4pm that I have had the last few years. I have just seen what does and does not work for me to still be present and accommodate being a mom. My family and I are digging deep into our schedules to see what will work best.

2nd- grooming price changes will take effect April 1st.

I am restructuring my pricing to be a little more breed specific. It will still be according to the amount of work (i.e. a 50 lb golden with thin hair will cost less than a 50 lb golden with very thick hair that needs more deshedding and trimming work). For the most part it won't change much other than a regular price increase. I have many clients who have been grandfathered in at a lower price then brand new clients. When I did price changes the last few years I raised my new clients prices differently than clients who have been with me for years. I also did not do a yearly raise in prices this year as I wanted to accommodate clients needing to travel farther. After many discussions with my accountant we have decided that I need to readdress my pricing structure. I also need to accommodate price increases in my products and equipment maintenance.

I am so greatful for all of your continued support in my business and trusting me to care for your dogs. I really do love what I do. I look forward to continuing to care for your dogs in the years to come!

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Friendly reminder that not all foods are safe for our dog family members. Limit what you do give so your dog doesn't get an upset tummy or worse need a visit to the vet.

Surgery update:

*I am currently full for the remainder of the year. I will not be scheduling anything until after I have my surgery and see how I am healing.

*I will have Emylie doing some bath only dogs her last week home from college in January.

*There will be no grooming appointments scheduled until I can return to work. I no longer have a second groomer on staff.

* I will not be accepting new clients until I get all current clients scheuled in from my leave of absence.

This talented woman and her mom is how I got started in grooming. Her skills are seriously top notch and now she has the trophy to prove it. So freaking proud of you Lisa Rosheen Lopez !

Over the weekend I drove to Irving TX to compete at the US Pet Pro Classic. I am an open level competitor, which means it's filled with high skill sets and talent galore with oodles of experienced groomers.

The class I compete in is called all other pure breds (AOPB). It must be done to standard and by hand (no cheating). I placed 1st in a tough class with some amazing people. I went back for Best In Show where I am in a stage with the winners from every class. Poodles, Wire, Sporting, AOPB

Um, yes. I won BIS. Which is HUGE!!! Among some of the Nation's best, I won it all!!

*Currently December is fully booked.

*November I have about 20 open appointment spots.

My favorite thing about this brand is they are 100% guaranteed, even if your dog chews it! I just have to send in a piece of it to get reimbursed.

I would like to wish a Happy 20 year Anniversary to this guy! Most of you have never seen him. Without him I would not be grooming dogs and doing what I love. He is who fixes things when I break them. He is who builds things I need to make my business run smoothly.

This guy is seriously the best husband I could have ever asked for.
