How Doodle You Do Dog Grooming Cooperative & Considerate dog grooming, in my home, at your dog's pace. So however you would describe your dog, we'd be happy to have him / her too!

Although the business name is How Doodle You Do, in an ode to my very own Springerdoodle, Clarabella Jane, know that we love ALL dogs and have a diverse clientele. Our customer list is already comprised of the curly, the double coated, the tiny, the teeny tiny, the gargantuan (Hankerdoodle, the Pyredoodle), the hairy, the furry, the sassy, the sweet, the gentle, the kissers, the timid, the outgoing, the nervous pee-ers & the dancers!

Before I introduce the pricing structure, I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the clients who asked me if I had raised my prices yet. They realized they had been paying me the same amount year after year and were sure at this point, it should be more. In a world where everyone is feeling the financial strain, I needed this reminder.

Though I would love to give long standing clients a deep discount for their loyalty, the fact of the matter is that it costs me more year after year to groom your dog. The cost of everything I use rises: shampoo, conditioner, facial wash, ear wash, alcohol, peroxide, blade wash, blades, clippers, shears, sharpening services, dryer repair, hydraulic tub repair, septic maintenance, disinfectant cleaners, electricity, gas (for heat in the winter), etc.

We are at that point; it was bound to happen. This is my second job, it is not a hobby. God blessed me with a talent that I love using to help you, and to help me. Lately, after a rash of no-shows, late shows and overall disrespect, I was seriously considering throwing in the towel. I’d say “it’s not you, it’s me”, but that’s only partially true.

I am at fault. I was lackadaisical. I did not create policies to protect myself and my sanity, my time and my home. That era has ended. I am creating drop off and pick up policies. Next time you arrive there will be a waiver for you to sign.

In addition, I have been diligently working on an easier to understand pricing structure. Dog coats and temperaments vary wildly, so base pricing is still just that, the base. Please keep in mind that I should cost more than a corporate salon. I offer a premium service: one on one grooming at your dog’s pace, higher end products (to avoid allergens, parabens, sulfates etc.), and top of the line equipment to make the grooming process easier for your pup.

I'll appreciate your cooperation and support as we move forward to streamline things and hopefully get back to loving what I do.

This precious floof goes by many names, but I like to call him Lord Finnegan of Finnlandshire and ask for his carriage to pick him up when he's done 🤣. However, he is no gentleman (hence they call him McFinnister of McNaughty at home), but has a much easier time when he takes the CBD treats! He got his summer cut recently so he's ready for all the swimming now ;)

I COULD do this. It IS possible. But I won't. There are certain places on your dog that contain THIN skin and lots of nerves - ears, tails, stomachs and skin in between the toes. Giving you a dog that looks how you want is not as important to me as being kind and gentle with your dog, preserving our grooming relationship and maintaining the trust that I have carefully built with them. And, here's another tidbit, cutting matting out can lead to more matting. Using kitchen scissors, dull clippers or even tools like in this video (if not extremely sharp) can damage the hair which then leads to future matting. All for the love of the dogs, I will do what is best for the dogs. Hopefully that's why you choose me!

Before, during and after for Shermeeee (that's what I call Sherman). This is Charlie's brother. I think he got his lazy bones from Charlie, or pointers on how to lay so your groomer can't lift you up . . . And he despises after photos, even in spite of treats he refuses to look at the camera. Stubborn Bernedoodle - but I love him!
