Hey everyone! We’ve made some adjustments to our fundraiser this weekend to focus on rescuing 4 zero-bid BLM burros from the online auction. I’ll be traveling to pick up a burro for a client, and while I’m there, I want to take the opportunity to save even more lives by bringing home additional burros to Gentle and adopt out!
Our updated goal is $1,300, and here’s how you can help:
✨ Step 1: We need to hit our initial goal of $500 (we’ve raised $175 so far).
✨ For every $200 raised beyond that, we can save an additional burro!

📣 Update on Rescue Kitty Taylor
Sweet Taylor has been through so much. After three rounds of antibiotics with no improvement and no weight gain, we knew she wasn’t going to get better. She was in no shape for surgery, but if we didn’t try, she wouldn’t make it either.
Here’s Taylor waking up from her dental surgery today. Her poor mouth was full of pus, with degenerated roots and gums receded so severely you could see what remained of her teeth. The vet removed the bad teeth and flushed out all the infection.
This mouth infection is the main suspect behind her chronic runny nose and breathing issues—the pus had nowhere else to go. With her mouth cleaned out and new antibiotics on board, we are praying this will finally bring her relief.
Due to the infection, the vet decided to hold off on her spay surgery to avoid further complications. Right now, her spay can wait while we focus on her recovery.

My job is simple, yet it’s one of the hardest things I do each day—teaching and earning trust. Most of the horses I work with arrive broken and fearful, carrying wounds from their past. It breaks my heart to see them like this. Somewhere along the way, we’ve forgotten the true meaning of gentling. When did it become about being harsh, unforgiving, and demanding to be the leader? Where did we lose the idea that gentling is about patience, kindness, and understanding?
Tonight, as I spend my evening "training" these ponies, I’m reminded that it’s not about control or forcing them to submit. It’s about teaching them that every session doesn’t have to be scary. It doesn’t have to be full of stress. It can be gentle, filled with calm, and rooted in the simple joy of sharing space. It's about making them feel safe, and letting them know that they can trust again. Gentle hands, soft voices, and an open heart—that’s the true spirit of gentling.

🐾 Update on Rescue Kitty Taylor! 🐾
Taylor is doing so well, and we’re so grateful for the support we’ve received so far! The pus coming from the wound below her eye is healing, and it's becoming less and less. She’s gained weight and is now 6.2lbs! 💪💖
There’s still work to be done, though. Once she’s fully healed, Taylor will need a spay surgery and a dental procedure to address a dead tooth we discovered. We’re committed to getting her 100% healthy, but we need your help to cover these upcoming medical expenses.

Update on Sweet Taylor 💕
We’ve been through quite the emotional rollercoaster with our precious rescue kitty, Taylor. Yesterday, we had a very tough conversation with the vet about her condition. Taylor was extremely lethargic, and we were faced with the heartbreaking reality of discussing euthanasia. But, instead of giving up, we made the decision to place her in an oxygen box and add a second round of antibiotics — and we are SO grateful we did.
Today, Taylor has shown us her fighting spirit. She’s still congested, but she’s wide awake, alert, and TALKING to everyone who walks by! She’s hungry, too, which is a huge sign that she’s starting to feel a bit better. 🐾✨
Taylor still has a long road ahead, including surgery once she’s stable, but we are hopeful. Her battle is far from over, and we are committed to giving her every chance at a full recovery.
However, her care is ongoing and expensive, and we need your help. If you’re able to donate, every little bit will go directly to Taylor’s medical expenses — from antibiotics to surgery and beyond.
