HELP GET CODY BACK HOME

Sherman County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public to identify someone that retrieved a dog that was loose but then failed to return the dog to its owner. This dog is part of a 4-H project and he belongs to a child. The dog’s name is Cody and he is a three year old blue heeler. We would love to see the dog returned.

The person that took Cody has been described as the following:
White male adult
Has a prosthetic right leg, possibly from the knee down
Age in the late 40’s or 50’s
Average build, medium height
Clean shaven with groomed blondish hair or with hair greying out
Was driving a gold-colored 90’s Chevrolet pickup truck with an extended cab

To the person that took the dog: Call us and coordinate the return of the dog. If you don’t return the dog, we will find you and we will arrest you. We don’t know who you are currently, but this message will spread.

To everyone else: If you know who has Cody, contact us and reference case -461. Also, share this message and let’s get Cody back home.

Fourth of July is right around the corner. If you think your pet may need sedatives to cope with the fireworks, now is the time to call and schedule an appointment. A current VCPR (Veterinary-Client-Patient-Ralationship) is required to prescribe medications, which includes an annual exam.

*Monday, July 3rd is too late to call and request medications.

*We have Solliquin, which is an herbal, over-the-counter product that helps pets deal with stress but you do need to give it for several days.

*Be certain your pet has a safe place to be when fireworks are going off. A fan or TV on helps to create background noise from fireworks. If they want to hide under the bed, let them if that’s where they feel safe.

We’re just going to leave this right here…

‼️We saw a couple of cases of parvo today‼️ Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy and weakness. The cases we saw today were NOT current on vaccinations and one was an adult dog.
🐾 All puppies should be vaccinated every 3-4 weeks starting at 6 weeks of age and continuing until they are 16 weeks or older.
🐾 Adult dogs should be boostered annually, especially breeding females so they can pass some immunity to their puppies. While parvo infections in adults dogs are not common, it can happen in adults who are not current on vaccines and have been exposed to the virus.
🐾 Minimize exposure by keeping puppies at home until they receive at least 3 vaccinations. Keep puppies away from public places like parks, rest areas, fairgrounds, etc. Assume parvo is everywhere.
🐾 Parvo is spread in the f***s of infected animals and can live in the ground for many years. It can also be spread on shoes, tires or any other object that comes into contact with infected f***s.
🐾 Contact your veterinarian if you are uncertain of your dog’s vaccination status, even if you administer the vaccine yourself.
🐾 If you administer the vaccine yourself, be certain the vaccine remains refrigerated from the time you purchase it, to the time it is administered. Do not mix the vaccine until you are ready to administer it.
🐾 Be a good neighbor and keep your dogs contained to your property and be sure to “scoop their poop” in all public places.
🐾 The parvo vaccines are very effective in preventing disease when administered at appropriate intervals.
Please don’t hesitate to ask your veterinarian if you have any questions!
