We are in desperate need of some semi permanent barn help! Current position will be a part-time situation for the immediate future.
▪️Horse experience is a must. Not “I rode a horse at a friends once,” but more like, “yes I know how to unblanket and saddle.”
▪️Have to be capable of coming out at minimum three days a week, ideally five.
▪️Major duties include: catching horses, unblanketing/blanketing, spraying off legs/mud, grooming, saddling, and turning horses back out, occasionally feeding.
▪️Looking at 15 hours a week at bare minimum. Some weeks will be double.
▪️Need reliable, responsible, honest and somebody with COMMON SENSE. I can’t express this enough.
🔺 Do not inquire if you don’t own muck boots and overalls
🔺 It’s muddy everywhere. It’s dirty everywhere. This is not a job where you want your hair to be curled daily and your nails 2 inches long.
🔺 Horses have their own agenda. Horses are not always super cute and sweet. Person must be able to handle this with poise.
🔺 This work is EXHAUSTING. I mean full body physical exhaustion, mental exhaustion, occasionally emotional exhaustion. I need somebody strong enough in all three of these departments, every day you show up to the barn.
🔹 Schedule is negotiable and can change weekly if need be.
🔹 Rates are negotiable depending on somebody’s experience and availability.
🔹 Pay is hourly, W2 or 1099 is okay.
