Rex


Hi, my name is Sexy Rexy.
I’m kind of a big boy about 80 pounds. I’m a mixed breed. They say Staffordshire terrier and Pitbull mix with a little cane Corso in me.
I’m 5 yrs old, I am fixed, and I get a long with, and I like everybody here, and trust me there are quite a few dogs here.
I came to Purgatory because my Mom passed recently. I am surely sad, but I’m doing ok. I am very affectionate, and a great kisser. I love going on car rides.
I’m for sure a cuddle bug, I love cuddling up on the couch.
I am very grateful to Steve for taking me in because I don’t think I could have handled a shelter with cages. I’m still grieving, and Steve gives me as much attention has he can, and it helps.
I feel like we are all family here, with lots of brothers and sisters, I’m not use to all this, but I’m doing well, besides this is only my temporary home.
I’m looking for my forever home.
It’s pretty great here, it really is, and I am so so so grateful to be here, but the refuge is meant to be an avenue to help me find my forever home, so Steve can keep helping other dogs like me, that keep finding their way to him.

Rue


Hi, my name is Rue!
I’m a young 1 yrs old Husky German shepherd mix. Thanks to Steve, I am fixed now, no puppies for me. I am a good with other dogs. Give me a ball and I can play all by myself for hours.
Am very smart and know my basic commands. I am up to date on Shots, and i got my rabies, so I’m good on that. I’m just looking for that loving forever home.

I’m my ready to go! I am very grateful to Steve for taking me in, but this is only my temporary home.
I feel like we are all family here, with lots of brothers and sisters, but I need to find my forever home.

Memphis


Hi, my name is Memphis!
I’m a young Pitbull. I’ve had puppies two different times this year alone, and thank you to Steve, I am fixed now. Finally, no more puppies. I am a good Momma, and Steve still has a few of my puppies also for adoption. Im proud, check them out they are beauties! I still have some young playful blood running through these veins, or I’m just an odd one, so what if I like to fight with rocks and bricks. LOL.. Give me a ball and I can play all by myself for an hours. I love love to play hard, and then I can cuddle with you all night long. I got my rabies shot, so I’m good on that. I’m just looking for that loving forever home.

Venus


Hi, my name is Venus!
I’m an eight-year-old American bulldog.
I’m fixed and up to date on all my shots. I came from the Elkhart County Humane Society. I am very grateful to Steve for taking me outta there it was really stressful on me.
Out here at the Refuge we all live in the house with Steve, though a house full of dogs and a little crazy, it is a lot better in a home setting than a cage all alone. I feel like we are all family here. Its like living on a farm! With lots of brothers and sisters.
I don’t trust people right away, but I warm up pretty quick. My size makes me a good guard dog. I’m big enough that all I got to do is bark and people pay attention, but I won’t really hurt anyone.
I’m a good listener, I’m very loyal. I come when called.
I don’t have any issues to speak of. I am cautious and slow to warm up, but I just want to know you, before I open up. Im a kind of a shy Girl that way.
I’m just looking for a home to spend the rest of my days, which is less than what I’ve already lived, so please someone love me for the last years that I got left. Im pretty healthy, and an easy keeper.
It is pretty great here, it really is, and I am so so so grateful to be here, but I need to find a forever home. The refuge is meant to be an avenue to help me find my forever home, so Steve can keep helping other dogs like me, that keep finding their way to him.

Kato


Hi, my name is Kato!
I am a very handsome Pitbull. I ve been Neutered, so no puppies for me! I think I am 2 yrs old.
I’m very loyal, love to cuddle, I’ll keep you warm, and You will never p*e alone again, I promise!
Someone dropped me off out in the woods. Thank God somebody found me, and brought me to predatory pet refuge. I am so grateful because I was really cold, scared out there.
Steve takes good care of us out here, so you know I am up to date on my shots.
I like the little people, and I get along with other dogs, but if im telling the truth I can be a little bully at times, and a little hard headed, but I still listen very well. My good qualities still totally out weight my stubbornness.
Public service announcement !!! Cheap wire kennels DO NOT hold me. You would need a heavy-duty kennel for me, so I don’t get out and chew things up, sorry I get bored easily!
When your gone I don’t really like being in a Kennel, but I admit I have to be, because Ill chew up stuff if im left out.. Its because of my age,Im just a baby! Oh and maybe a little bit because of my stubbornness, only because you leave me alone. UNLESS, I go with you everywhere, and I am totally ok with that, I love going places! I stay right with you, and I am super well behaved! Steve loves to take me places with him, and I’m pretty darn good when he takes me.
It is pretty great here, but I need to find a forever home, so Steve can keep helping other dogs like me, that keep finding their way to him. They need him more than I do now.

Dozier


Hi Guys, Im Dozier!
I am a spayed female that came to the refuge about a month ago. Im kinda skinny, but Steve is slowly and safely putting weight on me. Im pretty quiet and low key. Im not real excitable, when my friends out here get rowdy, I just kinda walk around observing.
I am a 9 year old American Bulldog. Steve always makes sure we are up to date on our shots.
I have big Paws, but they are so gentle. I really like to just kick back and people watch.

Steve rescued me from, lets just say a cramped situation, but Im doing much better now. I am ready to find you, you know who you are!
I have such a big heart, and so much love to give, i just wanna love you!!!

Diesel


Hi Guys, Im Diesel!
I am the top dog out here at the refuge. Im the one who controls everything.
Steve and I have a strong connection, but I need to find a forever home, so Steve can keep helping all my new friends, that keep finding their way to him. They need him more than I do now.
I am a Neutered 6 yr old German Shepard mix, I have a husky medium build.
I tolerate all the other animals out here, but they know Im in charge, and of course I like all the little people.
I am a great companion dog, and if you can take me to work, that’s even better. Im kind of spoiled like that. I love going places in the car, and to parks and trails for hiking.
I listen VERY well, and I stay close. I am house trained, and I don’t need a kennel.
I am up to date on shots.
I need to find my forever home, so Steve can make room for more dogs that need him.

Sidney

Hi Im Sidney,
In case you haven’t notices I am a Beautiful Southern Lady.
This lady don’t bark much, but I love to talk! When you get home you better be ready for an ear full, cause I wanna know all about your day! I just love it when you talk back to me!
Normally a lady don’t tell her age, but I have no shame in being a 2 + yr old Spayed German Shepard Doberman mix. I know, I look good right!
I consider myself calm and sophisticated and very Loyal.
I may, or may not have been accused of stalking, a few times here at the refuge, but I prefer to call it “follow the leader”.
I get along with all these goofballs out here at the refuge, and I am good with kids!
I am house trained and so well behaved that this Steve guy Never puts me in a kennel.
I Told you, I am special!
Sugar, let me just tell you…. I just love a good car ride! You don’t have to call me twice for a car ride, mostly cause I’m already right behind you anyways, you remember the stalking thing I told you about.
I really love Steve, he loves to take us for car rides, and I just love following him around the refuge. I could stay here with him forever, no really Steve likes me that much!
However, As a proper southern lady though, I need to find my forever home, so Steve can make room for more dogs that need him.

Hi I am Mr Beans,
I is a Hap - Hap - Happy dog!
I get along with all the animals here at the refuge, I even LOVE kids!!.
I am a well behaved 2.5 yr old American bulldog + maybe.
They take great care of me here, but GET ME OUTTA HERE! They cut me down below, so I cant have any Kids!
I like my kennel, but I am house trained.
I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, but My real wish is to find a forever home! We can revisit the hippopotamus after I win your heart over, and have you wrapped around my pinky toe.

Well Miya was adopted this week by a good friend of mine and a great person. She lost both her shepherds this week. They are in a better place. Thank you Stacia Bevington for giving Miya a very good home.
