Due to the influx of misinformation, we feel we need to respond to these posts to clear up any questions or concerns. The receptionist mentioned was following protocols that we have in place as she is directed to do. Conway Animal Hospital’s protocol flags our system if a client “no shows” for appointments (that means the client doesn’t show up without calling to cancel). To reschedule, that client must prepay the exam fee to schedule their next appointment. The prepayment is for the exam only and gets applied when you come to your appointment. This protocol was put into place to try and avoid appointment times being taken when the time slot could have been available for other sick pets that needed to be seen. When clients with appointments for multiple pets no show, or when a client “no shows” numerous times, which both happened in this case specifically, that leaves an hour or more available for other sick pets that could have been cared for. This is a one-time charge that gets applied to your bill at the time of service. For most, this isn’t an issue if you intend to come to the appointment. For those that it offends, it is not done to insult anyone; it is just the best way we have found to try and get our patients seen as efficiently as possible. Regarding the donated money on the specified account, one person did donate money on this account, and it was intended for a particular pet she was planning to adopt. She specifically said to use this money for this specific pet and to call her before using it on other pets for approval. This was the way the donator asked for it to be set up, which we honored. She later called to say for us to NOT use any more money from her deposit as the pet that was promised, was refused to be given to her. There is no money on this specific account as the person who donated the funds canceled her donations. There has not been any money on this specific account for over a year, nor have we treated any pets from this account since 9/1/2022. Because that client was so distraught over not getting the pet they donated money for and how she said she was treated, Conway Animal Hospital now asks people to donate directly to the client to use the funds as they see fit. There was a mention of so many issues with us over the past year, but since we haven’t seen any patients from this client in over a year, we are unaware of what those issues are. There are two sides to every story, and we did investigate this situation. We spoke with clients and other staff members present during the phone conversation. They, of course, could only hear the receptionist’s part of the conversation, and all agreed she was not being rude but obviously kept getting cut off by the other party. We did block posts on our page regarding this incident as they contained profanity towards our staff members and physical threats. To question professionalism over blocking such comments is disheartening.
We strive to exceed our client’s expectations and deliver outstanding patient care genuinely and compassionately. We truly care about each and every one of our patients. Regardless of what is being said, we always have and always will.
