Today was another great day at NEST! With several more visitors. Adda and Michelle Modrzynski, came as well as Lexy and Ella K. All joined myself, Kristye, Ashley, Marie and Becca.

Ashley started us off on an outstanding note.
Drago first place in jump off round with a time of 34
Also first place in the speed
Baby first place in the jump off round with a 🔥 time of 31
And also a blue in the speed

Becca was next And didn’t disappoint.
3rd place in the flat
Follow by a flawless first round for the blue
She followed that up by a nearly flawless round for a second.

Marie stepped up and shook the nerves and trust herself and leggo. Came away with 3 great round with improvements from yesterday and came away with a 3rd and a 4th.

We walked away with 2 champions and a bunch of smiles including myself.

SGEF ventured up north for the weekend to the NEST series. Marie Smith, Rebecca Dingus, Ashley Guerrero and our four legged friends were joined today by Kristye Shaffer.

In the 3’ jumpers Drago and Ashley received a first and a second.

In the limit hunters and their first time out, Baristo and Becca were first and third.

Ashley and Baby brought down the house with a pair of first in their debut.

Marie Smith and Legacy had a great day with a third and a fourth.

Well represented and supported. Thank you Jamie Mills and Nancy Arledge for a great show.

So as a farm owner there are several things that bring everything to reality. With that said SGEF is sad to announce the passing of one of the Coolville originals.

Milo passed away last night. He was brought into the farm when we combined the English and western team for a short time. He played IEA and IHSA for several years until being retired and fostered by the Hubers where he was a main stay and still stayed in contact. He came back to Stonegate as a boarder about 5 years ago, so that he could show off his heart of gold and share it with anyone who walked by.

He is going to be greatly missed by so many. Being a farm owner you treat all horses as one of your own and each and every one will have a piece of your heart.

After a great week last week for my children, thanks to Heather Pinnock, Olivia Wilson, and Susan wilson Grant is getting to take the next step on to IHSA nationals.

One more day left at IEA NATIONALS!!!
Congrats to SGEF very own Savanah Martin on her reserve champion, yes that’s right number 2 in the nation in jv novice flat!!!!!

Also with one day left we have 2 champions so far.
Grant open individual fences
Bari open championship

Foster Equine Boarding & Rescue hosted their banquet last night and transformed the indoor ring! 🏆

Michael, and two of our very own, Lexy and Ashley, were recognized with appreciation awards for all of their hard work and continual contributions. 💚

Congrats to all that were awarded and recognized! As always, enjoy the ride! 🐴

During today’s IHSA show, Coach Michael Hiehle, received a special birthday surprise from his team. Michael had a birthday earlier this week, and as a present received a giant cookie cake and a wonderful serenade of the happy birthday song from the Ohio University team and the crowd. Happy birthday Coach!
