This is what can happen in the blink of an eye when working with animals. This happens to be from a cat...it cost an urgent care visit and 2 days of work...and honestly, I am lucky that is all it cost. Many don't fare as well as I did, ending up in the hospital as well as having to have surgery and some even losing partial or full use of their hand...so the next time you think grooming is too expensive, understand that every day we are putting ourselves at risk to take care of your pets...

Dear wonderful customers, I have a neighbor that is complaining about people turning around in his driveway, please please please refrain from turning around in neighboring driveways, as they may complain to the city about my shop. Another friendly reminder also to not walk your dogs in neighboring yards (and our front yard) please use potty area by shop entryway. Thank you!

Dear customers and potential customers: I greatly appreciate you and doing business with you, and this won't apply to most of you...that said, it would be greatly appreciated if you make an appointment with us, if for some reason you need to cancel, PLEASE give us at least 24 hours notice, preferably more since it isn't always easy to get a hold of other clients on the cancellation list last minute. It is highly frustrating when someone commits to an appointment and either doesn't show up, or cancels when I do reminder calls. If we are unable to fill those appointments last minute, we lose the income from that time with no ability to recover it. If this happens more than once with anyone, I will no longer put you on my schedule and you will have to find another groomer. Our time is valuable and appointments are in high demand. Thank you for your understanding.

PSA: Ticks are TERRIBLE this year!! If you are not treating your pets for them and you live somewhere that is prone to tick infestation, get them on something quickly. I have pulled more ticks off the pups this year already than I can remember any other years past...

Hi all! New updated protocol! We have resumed traffic in the shop, but limiting to one person/family at a time inside at drop off/pick up. If you get here and there is someone in the shop already, please go back up to the driveway and wait until they leave. Wear a mask if that makes you comfortable, if it doesn't, that is fine too-keep your distance and I will as well. Making drop offs/pick ups as quick as possible so there is little contact. You can pay with your credit card or cash at pick up. Again, if you have been sick or have been exposed to someone that has been, please be respectful and reschedule your appointment. If we get exposed or sick, we will have to close down again, and nobody wants that! It feels great to be back serving all the dogs and making the fur fly! See you soon!

To all my wonderful clients that have left messages, I will be returning calls over the next few days, so know that I haven't forgotten about you! I have lots of stuff to do before we open back up on Tuesday! We are in the thick of remodeling the shop, so when you are finally able to come back in, there will be big changes!

Hallelujah, we can open back up again! Protocols will be put into place as follows: Nobody will be allowed in the shop, the stairway will be roped off. Please call when you get here and someone will meet you at the top of the stairs to get your dog. Please put an easily removable (buckle collar, nothing that needs to be slid over the dog's head) collar on your dog so that we can put a slip lead on and you can remove the collar without slipping it over the head to keep the transition as safe and secure as possible. We will be taking payment via invoice thru email preferably, or by phone if email invoice is not an option for the client-credit or debit only, no cash (at this time) or checks. All customers must wear a mask to drop off, as per the mandate. Single person drop off per mandate. If you or a member of your household is sick, PLEASE cancel your appointment and reschedule-this is imperative for our safety and the safety of others. I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Due to the Covid-19 non essential shutdown, The Paw Shoppe will remain closed thru Monday, May 4th. I will be watching closely for any changes and will notify clients immediately if any changes occur. Quick update: As I am sure all or at least most know, the state of MN has asked all non essential businesses to shut down by this Friday, March 27th at 11:59. The Paw Shoppe will be closing after our work day on Friday-all appointments between now and then are filled. If you have an appointment in the next 2 weeks, I will be getting in touch with you to figure out scheduling. Thank you everyone for your patience and cooperation during this scary time. To my clients...I will remain open until I get sick or am forced by the state to close. Please be mindful about your own health regarding the state of it and those that will come in contact with you. If you are sick, cancel your appointment. Please. I am bleaching door handles and my counter in between every client, and washing all dogs as quickly as possible when they arrive. I am trying to do my part to keep you all safe, as well as myself. I will keep you updated if there are any changes.

PSA to my clients. I love each and every one of you and I really appreciate your business. That being said, it would be greatly appreciated if you would not walk your dogs in my yard and my neighbors yard, but if your dog happens to have a bowel movement in the yard, please pick it up. If you don't have a bag, come down to the shop and get one, I have extras. I do have a potty area with a fire hydrant if your dog needs to relieve him/herself, it is right next to the step. We try very hard to keep a nice yard, but having dogs use it as a potty area makes it very difficult. Thank you.
