Otters might get rid of the green crabs too!??

Are you interested in learning more about the history of sea otters along the Oregon coast and efforts to examine their possible reintroduction? For the next several weeks we have a temporary exhibit created by the Elakha Alliance. Come learn about traditional tribal connections to otters, roles otters play in healthy kelp forests, and relationships between otters and fisheries.

NEWPORT, Ore – There is an increase in the number of stranded California sea lions along the entire Oregon coast due to leptospirosis, a naturally-occurring bacteria that can also sicken dogs, people, other wildlife, and livestock.
