9/21/25 UNH Horse Trials with “Wave” and “Lilly”.

Things were a bit challenging but went well enough to pull off a 4th and 5th place finish!

On the way to UNH, the horses decided to argue in the trailer and got a bit banged up. On top of that the construction beat them up a bit on the way up and back! It was a bumpy trailer ride for us and them! (We decided to take a break at Dover Saddlery 🙂 ). Eventhough they got banged up, it seemed the horses had a good time at UNH (so did Oscar). “Wave” got his best dressage score yet, “Lilly” got some 8’s, and XC was clear for both. Stadium was a bit rushed this time which threw them both for a loop. They are home, in good moods, resting, and getting ready for Maryland in November.
NOTE- The horses got to stay overnight at the barn “Lucky” lived at when Lilly was at college at UNH.

Dutchess County Fair 2025~
Always a fun and interesting time!
Several Sky Farm riders joined our veteran riders and competed for the first time! A big shout out to them! A shout out to the Wednesday riders who competed/ were there for hours in the pouring rain and powered through it. A congratualtions to those who won ribbons and to those who had their own personal successes. A huge thank you to the individuals who helped make this year possible for Sky Farm riders and horses. Without you they would not have been able to go. Thank you to the riders for being confident enough to compete even with limited support (Lilly only had the use of one arm this year due to shoulder surgery). This year was a bit different but overcoming challenges is what life is all about. Congratulations to all.

September Sky Farm Obstacle Challange. 5 extra points were awarded to anyone wearing schooling show attire or show attire and 10 points to anyone in costume. Yes, this event was timed! 🙂 Enjoy some pictures of competitors hard ar work!

Over the past few weeks “Ace”, “Pearl”, “Lilly”, “Sonic”, and “Coltrane” all enjoyed some XC schooling.

Sonic has not been to a course in years but per usual thought he was good enough for the Olympics!

Coltrane did a very good job for his first time presented with this atmosphere.

Pearl and Ace were out for the second time this year and were even more brave.

Lilly just gets better and better every time she practices!

This week allowed some time for “Pearl”, “Peanut”, and “Lilly” to have some fun at Fitch’s Corner! Always so beautiful there! Oscar had a blast hunting crickets, instructing, and living his best life.

First Horse Camp of the season!!!!
These campers are responsible for learning the care and management of all the horses at the barn as well as improving their riding. They also help take care of Harriet the goat and Oscar the dog!

Today did not exactly go as planned but nonetheless “Wave” and Jillian were able to pull off a 5th place finish. “Wave” showed significant improvement in the warm up arenas which is a very scary place for him!

XC schooling adventures in the rain make for an extra fun and challenging time! Thank you to Maisy for coming along to video and groom.

This was “Carmen” and Sophia’s first time ever XC schooling. No falls and they got over everything they tried 🙂

“Wave” and Jillian couldn’t have had a better school their first time out practicing for the season.

Logan and “Ace” played around over a few XC fences. Logan has had a bit of a break the past few seasons so it was good for her to get back out there. She showed Ace the ropes and he was glad to get off the farm to do something fun after recovering from stepping on a nail 2 months ago.
