Whiskey came to me for help with his anxiety under saddle, particularly with ring work. We are now riding in a neck rope and he’s doing fabulous! This was his first time and although I’m using more pressure on it than I’d prefer, he’s now thinking.
I would much rather have a horse that thinks about what’s being asked than for a robotic horse that is programmed 🤷♀️
Kind of a long video but this horse has come SO far!
Extremely reactive and would run from anything that scared him.
He also had the BIGGEST issue with his face being touched, worst head shy horse EVER 🤦♀️

In the beginning he was VERY concerned about it. So about an hour in we got to this point and ended it. He does not take treats but loves alfalfa hay so that’s his high value reward at the moment 🐴

So excited to see what the next 30 hold for us! He will be available to a new home once he is well rounded, confident, and comfortable with his new life 🥰
Most every horse I work with I have to modify our lessons in a way that they can best understand and learn.
This boy has me modifying everything. We now understand each other a bit better and found a way to let him show me just how comfortable he is in certain situations. He has free choice to move away if the pressure is just too much. Lately he has decided to want to stay by me. My goal is to add enough that we continue to grow but not enough that he think he’s better off without me.
Moving at a snails speed but at least we are moving. 🐴❤️
Here’s some video of Gambler’s progress. These steps are painfully slow but without them we can’t go anywhere.
My goal is for him to want to be with me. Turn to me when asked and when he’s given a choice to move he chooses to move towards me instead of away. If he moves away I’ll continue pushing him out by moving towards his hip until he’s ready to come back.
