Rescue Update 03/05/22

Facebook Friends, This is an update on the 30 plus babies in need in Corbin that we had posted about earlier. First of all, we would like to thank our volunteers that gave their heart and soul today to help these babies! Beth Trescher, Tristan and Kayla, Jayne and Aida! Big Thank you to those who have given financially to this cause! We took over 250 lbs of dog food that donated by Aida D and Sandy R. We took gallons of water, and food bowls as well. These babies sure enjoyed the treats they received! There was a sweet momma who had just given birth to her babies a few days before. The porch boards had to be taken up to rescue them. Another momma in labor and then two other pregnant girls there. Owner is keeping two of the dogs, a male and female. We will be calling the vet Monday to schedule for spay/neither surgeries. We plan on going back later this week. Thanks again to everyone who offered aid in this rescue. It does take a team, to accomplish the work that needs done for these animals.

Our Story

We are dedicated to rescuing dogs/cats left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs/cats given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We place dogs/cats in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog/cat into their homes and lives. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs/cats in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs/cats in the greatest need take priority. We are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low so that virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of the dog/cat beyond the adoption process. Finally, we strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
