I have some availability left for June. I have some for next week, 10th, 11th, 14th and 15th. Also 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th.
Reminder July 3rd is when I start to slow down for the rest of the year. If you text me and I'm able to get your dog in then I will schedule the appt. Always good to have a backup. Once my son starts backup which is July 17th, we won't get an intercession week for 6 weeks. I will groom on those weeks and also maybe 2 Saturdays a month.

Announcement!!🎉 I have taken a FT position at my son's school. 🙌 My last grooming day will be July 3rd.😲 I am only going to be grooming very PT once I start at the school. He goes year round and has 1 week off every 6 weeks, I will groom those weeks and maybe 1 or 2 Saturdays a month. As if it wasn't already hard enough to get an appt I've done made it worse. 🙃 sorry! I've been grooming for 20yrs and in this Texas heat for 8yrs. I'm looking forward to this new journey with my baby boy and with the school. I am taking a week vacation to see family in Indiana June 17th - 24th. If I like your dog/s I will work them in my schedule. Obviously appts that have been scheduled will be kept. Text me if you have questions, I don't check messenger for my business page. This is why I haven't accepted new clients. Thank you all for always being so patient with me and for always being flexible. Thank you for always trusting me with your dog/s. I really don't know a lot of groomers because early on I saw how ugly they can get, judgemental. Instead of offering up kind advice they want to leave nasty voicemails. No groomers are the same. We all have our own kind of style, rules and prices.

Lost another sweet client lastnight to cancer. She had been coming regularly every 4 weeks and I kept noticing spots. Her mama had them surgically removed twice and they told her it wasn't cancer. Well she declined real quick within these past 4 weeks and passed away peacefully at home last night. 13yrs old and just a fun little girl. Miss Lilly you will be missed! 💗

This tiny gal was posted in a group and a client went and picked her up and text me if I could do an emergency, so I made room for her today. Look at her outcome.... she's a saucy little girl. Poor thing had all kinds of sharp things tangled in her mats. Not anymore, she has a fresh start and hopefully onto a fresh new, happy, loving life. Far away from the people who neglected her.

Scarlett's owner asked me today what I give her. I wasn't quite sure what he meant so I asked what do you mean? And he was like melatonin or what to get her to sit still. LoL! I immediately replied with absolutely nothing, it's all done some what easily by all the distractions. Working out of the garage isn't always comfortable but it works greatly when it comes to working with difficult dogs. Plus you have to remember the dog knows what he or she can get away with under your care. Scarlett doesn't like having her feet done or toe nails done. Scarlett is the shihtzu. Ranger is a nosey, curious Aussiedoodle.
** 2 Not so smiley dogs 🙄 lol.

A few updates... please don't freak out... very few appts available b4 Thanksgiving. And I'm still not taking any new clients. A new Client Monday was a no show, no call and she had 2 dogs. I set aside time for them and to not show is beyond frustrating. I understand we had a cold front come through and all, but a simple it's too cold text would be appreciated. My time is valuable too! 👍

Also I'm going to be changing my business name at the beginning of the year and adjusting prices, I don't get paid enough for these big dogs that take 2+ hours. Love the doodles and poodles but I'm charging you $75 when majority of the grooming salons charge $75 for small breeds.

Intro for the newcomers!

Hi, I'm Amy. I've been a groomer since 2004. I moved to the Island in 2014 from Indiana and started my business there hence my name. Have moved off the Island and now just over the bridge in Flour Bluff and have been here for 6yrs grooming out of my house.

1. I'm a one person show, it's just me doing it all. I don't have a bather, brusher, and someone to do all the brunt work before I do just the clipping. It's just me wrestling with your dog that doesn't like to be brushed out or bathed or have his legs and paws touched let alone stand still for nails. Don't get me started on the large dogs that don't want to go onto my table or get into my bathtub or even go up the ramp. I'm bending and squatting to lift up some heavy dogs on the DAILY! The senior dogs that wobble and almost fall off my table and I have to some how be an octopus and have all kinds of hands on the dog at all times. Blind dogs, deaf dogs. Dogs that try to bite! Dogs that hate the dryer and don't want to stand up. I don't have a fancy table to help me hold up dogs I have to get creative and thats me sitting while holding the dryer and comb and having my leg in between the dogs front and back legs. Also if your dog is too big for my table Im on a concrete floor working on my knees and having to get up, squat down and bend over. Yea... fun times! It's why I have 2 chiropractors and visit often. Sometimes it helps and sometimes I over work myself and need a break to recover because at the end of the day I'm still a WIFE AND MOTHER and have responsibilities other than dogs to be groomed and I have to function!

2. My BIG thing is Family First.... that means yours and that means Mine. If my son gets sick I will have to reschedule. If I'm booked out that means I'm going to do everything I can to squeeze you in. If I'm sick, same applies. If my son has something scheduled with the school, guess what I'm going to be there. Sorry for the inconvenience but again my regulars are Rockstars and are amazing about being flexible and working with me. If something comes up on your end and even the day of I'm totally understanding when yall text me. I don't get mad or upset, I get it things happen!! That's why I give 15 min grace period to get to my house after that I have to consider appt canceled because I can't be late for next appt.

3. I don't operate like regular salons. I don't want cages full of dogs all day. That's too much stress on them and me. I go by appt only. My grooming prices are kept reasonable. And nails are ALWAYS included with just a bath or with grooming. I'm a nail n**i, always checking and always checking the paw pads. And yes I just do nails alone too.

4. I don't like to make appts through Facebook. I prefer you texting my phone. It's easier for me to keep track plus I like to give a 15min heads up when I'm almost done so you can head back and pickup your dog. I don't work every Saturday because my only day off is Sunday. And please common courtesy to text me if you aren't coming..even if that means you took your dog elsewhere. Trust me it's 💯% ok!! I just dont like no call, no shows. My regulars have been booking ahead of time and that's why I get filled up so quick. Some have booked out for the rest of the year. Others book their next appt when they pick up.

5. I love all my clients, furry or not! My clients are great. If we can't small talk then I don't know if we are the right fit. If you can't be flexible with me and respect how I run my business then I don't know if I'm the right fit for you and I'm 100% ok with that. Those who have been with me since 2014 have been THE BEST. They are the ones who have brought me business and helped grow me rapidly. Obviously I'm not the only groomer in Corpus or do I ever claim to be the best. I just do what the owner wants me to do and I enjoy building relationships with you the owner and with your fur kid. I talk to your dog, sing while I work. Majority of the time I have Air 1 on which if you don't known that's a Christian station. Or I listen to sermons. So if you dog doesn't know the Lord they will by the time I'm done 😉

Lastly, my baby just started school! I've always been a VERY involved parent with my other 3, he is no different. I'm also a substitute teacher at his school which I love as much as him! With my baby being in school that means I can only schedule so many appts a day because I have to pick him up from school. I operate from 9am-2pm. I have to leave by 2:45 to get him picked up. I don't stop to eat or have breaks. I work nonstop until the job is done. If next dog is here then I keep going! Don't forget I work outside in all weather so majority of the time I'm soaked in sweat, covered in dog fur, itching like crazy and just ready to take a cold shower! His school is also year round so they are on 6 weeks and off 1 week. So on the off weeks I'm able to work in more dogs than usual as he will be home with me. Sept 4-8th was his first off week.
My regulars have watched my baby grow up over the years and know my kids are the reason I built this business. It gave me something to do at home and also be at home with them and with my grandkids when they were here. If anything I've mentioned doesn't fly well with you then that's OK, we aren't a fit and I hope you find a great grooming salon as there are plenty in Corpus.
