Christmas is just around the corner and this year we have decided to do something a little different! We will now be booking limited appointments for Saturday the 21st, Monday the 23rd and Tuesday the 24th. These spots will be more than our normal pricing and are available to anyone, including new clients. In order to book, we will require a nonrefundable deposit that will go towards the cost of grooming. The deposit must be paid before an appointment will be booked. Hurry before they are all gone!!

So....we have had a lot of changes in the last couple of months, both personal and business. I wanted to thank all my clients for their never ending patience while we sort through everything.

Let them Lay!!!

Do you notice anything missing in the 1st picture? No? Well, anyone that is familiar with aging dogs will. They will notice the absence of the sloped back or wall lean. Most dogs, but especially older dogs, can not spend an entire grooming session standing. It is very uncomfortable. As groomers, we train the dogs to have good table manners, but sometimes we forget that they should be trained to be comfortable on the table. Don't need them to stand? Let them sit or even lay down. There will come a time where they can no longer stand there. It is harder to untrain years of "stand up" then it is to allow them to decide. This ends up being even harder on them with the constant up and downs.
Is it harder to work on them? Yes
Is the groom show ready? No
Does it take longer? Yes

But...you know what else?
Are they happier? Yes
Are they more comfortable? Yes
Are they less stressed? Yes

This is the other part of humanity before vanity. Miss blubelle here spent 2 hours in my van when she normally takes 1¹/²hrs. Two hours and she spent a grand total of 15mins standing. The outcome? A happier, more comfortable girl that was running in the yard as soon as she was done and will go for her evening walk vs laying inside hurting for the rest of the day.
