Stop groomer hopping!
Did you know, when you "shop around" for the cheapest groomer, you are doing your groomers, your dog and yourself a disservice? Over time, we all become comfortable with each other and learn little details that help us. Your dog learns our habits, which helps them adjust as they get older. We all have our own routine, and over time, your pet learns them, just like we would. This helps them as they age, especially if they start going blind, deaf, senile and so on. The same goes for us. We learn everything about your dog. We see differences in their skin, hair, smell and mannerisms. We can alert you to something out of the ordinary. We learn what's easier and more comfortable for them and can accommodate them as time goes on. Just like our doggy clients, we learn you, the owners, as well. We learn what you do and don't like. Yesterday, I did one of my client's dogs for the first time.she had sent me instructions given to her from her friend/breeder. In those instructions were blade lengths of a 4 or 5. As an owner, those are just numbers, as a groomer, I know those are very short. I have groomed 4 different dogs for her in the last 7 years. The shortest we ever did on one was 1ยน/ยฒ", and she wasn't crazy about it. Knowing this, I essentially told her to leave it to me and let me do what I do best ๐. She loved it and it was much longer than what was suggested. If she had went elsewhere, they would have done what they were told and had a very upset customer. This would have absolutely NOT been the groomer's fault, nor the owner's. It is all a simple misunderstanding that would have cost the groomer a client and left the owner highly unsatisfied.
By staying with one groomer, you set everyone up for a much more pleasant and successful relationship โค๏ธ!
