We have had the great pleasure of having K9 officer Roscoe stay with us from the Mills County Sheriff's Office Mills County K9 Unit! He has been enjoying his vacation with us here at S&B with LOTS of ball time, relaxing in the sun, and getting some good ear scratches in there too 😉 truly an amazing 100% good boy!!!

Meet Brooklyn ✨ Our Youngest Team Member at S&B!

Brooklyn is a junior in high school who brings both energy and passion to the S&B team. When she’s not playing softball, tennis, or pickleball, she’s spending time with her German Shepherd, Remi, working on training and bonding with him to bring out his best.

She’s grown up in a household full of big dog breeds—from working-line Shepherds and Malinois to Cane Corsos, Labs, and Boxers—so being around dogs feels like second nature. Even though this is her first job working with dogs professionally, she’s coming up on her one-year anniversary with S&B this July and has already become a valuable part of the team.

Outside of hands-on pup care, Brooklyn also helps manage much of the content on the Dog Parents FB Group you see on our social media—she’s the creative mind behind many of the posts you know and love! 🫶🏼

Today we ventured to Nebraska City for a 1 hour session. This was both boys first session and they absolutely rocked it! 2 dogs 1 handler walking in sync! With the Heather’s hero’s transitional this family had their first enjoyable walk in 7 years!! This is why we do what we do. Helping dogs and helping families 🥰

This sweet little girls name is Rosie. She's an intact female, up to date on shots. Rosie's human mama passed away and her granddaughter has been looking after her. But life changes and the young granddaughter can no longer move forward with Rosie.
These kinds of situations really tug at my heart strings because it's literally no fault of the dogs. Yet they are the ones that suffer. Rosie is super sweet, has been around other dogs most of her life so we know she's social. She doesn't seem to have a mean bone in her body so she'd be great with kids as well. I mean, she's literally a perfect companion. She's around 5-6 years old. To meet her is to love her.
If you or anyone you know may be thinking about a dog this is the one. She's great! Everyone can please share this as well. We've placed several dogs in the past from you guys sharing our posts.

Roscoe here is one of our local K9 cop dogs. He got a little one on one park play with our handler Jake today.
I personally feel blessed that we have built such a facility that even our local law enforcement officers trust that we can not only handle their officer friends, but do it safely and give them plenty of enrichment while they are our guests.

Jason has been working with dogs for over 20 years—bringing experience from vet tech roles, breeder kennels, greyhound race training, boarding, and daycare. His passion for pups runs deep—he’s had dogs all his life and currently shares his home with 5 of them (all but one are rescues!).
We just celebrated Jason’s second anniversary with us at S&B end of last year. We’re lucky to have his knowledge, compassion, and commitment on the team! 🎉

Meet Jesse Flynn! 🐾✨

Jesse has worked with all kinds of animals, even farm animals, and her passion for caring for them is truly inspiring. 🐶🐱🐰

Outside of work, she’s a proud mom of a girl wrestler 🤼‍♀️ and the caretaker of her own little zoo, which includes 3 dogs, 3 cats, 4 rescue kittens, 1 rabbit, and a bearded dragon. Fun fact: she actual had to bottle-feed this rescued kitten.

When she’s not busy with her furry (and scaly) friends, you can find her 📚 reading, 🌲 hiking, ✂️ crafting, and embracing her love for animals by giving them the best care possible. Jesse truly brings compassion and dedication to everything she does! 💖
