Coupeville Shelter Kittens 8/5/24
Here are a few video clips of some of the Coupeville shelter’s kittens having a lot of fun with a feather toy. When they finished playing with that, in a room full of cat toys, they decided the most fun thing to play with was our camera! After we finished filming but before they finished playing, one of them accidentally jumped into their water bowl and got all wet. In spite of that little mishap, a fun time was had by all! Please give us a call if you have any questions. Our phone number is (360) 678-8901. Learn more about WAIF and the animals in our care at https://waifanimals.org/.
Grimbolde and Robert 8/5/24
We got a little bit of video out in the big play yard at the Coupeville shelter this afternoon as Grimbolde and Robert were out running around and having fun together. We hope you enjoy it! That's Grimbolde with the beautiful white coat and Robert with typical husky good looks. Please give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have any questions. Robert cooling off!
Robert had a little bit of fun today cooling off with the staff. We expect he’ll want to do this more often but hopefully with a new forever home! To learn more, call us at 360-678-8901. waifanimals.org/robert
Jules 6-10-24
Believed to be a Rottweiler/pitbull mix, Jules is only about a year old. This friendly girl has a lot of youthful playful energy and she loves to play fetch! After chasing the ball for a while, she is ready to go for a dip in the little wading pool in the play yard. Here is video to show you what a pretty and playful pup she is. Please give us a call if you have any questions about her. Learn more at https://waifanimals.org/dog/jules/.
Betty and her pups!
On May 25, 2023, Betty (Crocker) gave birth to a large litter of puppies at our shelter. Today, Betty and 7 of her litter of 12 came to the shelter for a quick birthday celebration. Now her pups are a year old and they still remember their mama! We hope you enjoy this video as much as we had fun getting together to celebrate their 1st year milestone! Happy Birthday, you crazy pups!
Serenity 5/20/24
We have been really puzzled as to why petite six-year-old kitty Serenity has not yet found a home. She has a cute as a button little round face with yellow-gold eyes and just a little stub of a tail. Her coat is soft as can be and she has a dainty manner. She’s a very affectionate kitty who loves to be petted. Serenity “kneads biscuits” with her paws when she is happy. Here is a little video we put together to show you what a great cat she is. Please give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have questions. Learn more at https://waifanimals.org/cat/serenity/.
Looks like kitten season is here! These cuties aren’t quite ready for adoption yet, but WAIF will be holding a kitten shower from noon to 3 p.m. on April 27. Stop by to donate pet supplies and learn more about our foster program! #kittens #kittenseason #adoptdontshop
Abbott loves to play, especially with dogs that match his energy. He’s been with us for far too long and we just can’t figure out why! If you’re interested in learning more about Abbott, please call us at (360) 678-8901. His playmate, Maizy, is a ‘23 WAIF “grad.” 😍
Piper 3/18/24
Only about a year old, mixed breed Piper is a very sweet, happy, friendly, and enthusiastic pup. She’s a smart and treat motivated girl who knows how to sit and to shake hands. Piper loves to play fetch and although she doesn’t always bring the ball back, she sure has fun! Piper is in need of a home with no kids under 12 and where she will be the only pet. Learn more at https://waifanimals.org/dog/piper/.
Frances 3/18/24
We’ve put together a video to show what a great dog Frances is. A 5-6-year-old Australian shepherd mix, she’s more laid back than most Australian shepherds. She’s a friendly, happy pup with a wonderful smile who loves belly rubs and her tennis ball. Shelter staff call her “an all-around good girl”. Frances will be happiest in a home where she will be with her people most of the time. Learn more at https://waifanimals.org/dog/frances/.
Tiki Cat
Beautiful 2-3-year-old tabby Tiki Cat is still up to her silly shenanigans at WAIF’s Oak Harbor cat adoption center so this afternoon we made a little video of her. You may remember her from a previous video that we made with her that involved catnip. There was no catnip today but she was having great fun chasing treats across the floor. In addition to her playful silliness, you can see that she is an affectionate kitty who loves to be petted. Although she loves people, Tiki Cat does not seem to care much for other cats so she is in need of a home where she will be the one and only. If you have questions about this friendly and playful kitty, please give us a call at (360) 678-8901.
Three-year-old Belgian Malinois Anzo is just a gorgeous dog! He’s also a very, very smart, friendly, athletic, energetic, and playful fellow. He loves to play fetch and knows how to sit, shake hands, and stay. Anzo is looking for a home with no kids under 12 and no other animals. We put together a video that we hope will show you what an awesome dog he is. The video is just under 4 minutes long. We hope you enjoy this look at Anzo! Please give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have any questions. Learn more at https://waifanimals.org/dog/anzo/.
Abbott
One of our awesome volunteer dog walkers caught some great video and photos of 2-year-old husky Abbott as he traversed an agility tunnel, joyfully caught raindrops running off the roof, scarfed down a puppicino, and lounged on some straw bales. We put it together in a 1-minute video and we believe it will make you smile. Take a look at this friendly, energetic, and delightful fellow. Learn more on his webpage at https://waifanimals.org/dog/abbott/ and give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have questions.
Jello and Jinx
Jinx (black) and Jello (torti) are 7-8-month-old kitties that came into WAIF separately but bonded overtime at the shelter. Jello is a special needs kitty as she has cerebellar hypoplasia, also known as “wobbly cat syndrome”. This is not painful to her or contagious but it does cause her to have issues with her balance and to stagger when she walks. Aside from that, she is a very sweet and curious kitten with a loving heart. Jinx is friendly, playful, and curious. Since they are closely bonded, they will need to be adopted together into a loving home. We have put together a little video to show the two kittens. Be careful when you watch it as they might just steal your heart! Please give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have questions about them. You can find more information on their webpage at https://waifanimals.org/cat/jelloandjinx/.
We hope these new adopters from our Freeland Cat Cottage are ready for triple the shenanigans! Jack Sparrow, Orange Blossom, and Strawberry Shortcake all got adopted together. We LOVE when this happens! Congratulations to all! 😻🥰
Oak Harbor Cat Adoption Center Kittens
The energetic and fun-loving kittens at the Oak Harbor cat adoption center have figured out how to use the big cat exercise wheel in the kitten room. We got a bit of video of them giving a demonstration. All three of the cute and playful kittens are male and are 15 weeks old. Please give us a call at (360) 678-8901 if you have questions about them.
Tiki Cat and the Catnip
When you mix cats and catnip, kitty hijinks often follow. Here is a bit of video of Oak Harbor cat adoption center cat Tiki Cat reacting after a pinch of catnip was sprinkled on the floor. Learn more about Tiki Cat at https://waifanimals.org/cat/tikicat/.
If you’re looking for a gentle and nicely mannered canine companion with a loving heart, you’ll want to consider Coco. Nine years of age, this sweetie loves to be around people. She has great manners both indoors and outside and she knows how to sit and to shake hands. Coco walks nicely on a leash and is gentle when taking a treat from your hand. We made a video of Coco recently as she spent time in the front office with shelter staff and volunteers. If you have questions about this very good girl, please give us a call at (360) 678-8901.
