How to brush your dog and why brushing is so important !

Brush down and out, away from the dog's skin. Always brush in the direction the coat grows; dogs don't like to be brushed backwards. Be gentle or you may damage your dog's coat by pulling and stretching hairs until they tangle and break. Remember matts are painful, discomfort, they can cause skin irritations, they can hide parasites between other problems.
Brush and comb your dog’s coat regularly is very important to prevent matts.

Regular grooming maintains a healthy coat and skin.

Regular nail trims not only help keep the nails short but helps reinforce healthy foot structure and posture, and reduces the risk of infection. Your pet will look and smell great. Regular visits may result in early detection of issues with ears, skin, teeth and more!

Unfortunately it's foxtail season again 😞 Foxtail plants are a weed-type grass that can cause serious problems for animals!
Ear infections, nosebleeds/rhinitis, pyothorax, abscesses and tetanus are just SOME of the serious issues that can come from these little guys! If you notice your pet repeatedly sneezing, pawing at their ears, coughing or acting uncomfortable, these could be signs of a possible foxtail and should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Let me introduce you to Jeri Baker Hinebaugh - she has been grooming for around 6 years now and is absolutely fantastic at what she does 😊

‼️‼️ Did you know that on average for a small dog it takes around 2-4 hours to complete the grooming process?

For large dogs with lots of hair or big doodles, it takes a bit more than that, some of those extra large hairy furfriends can be with us all day!

We don't rush through things, thats when accidents happen! We try to make every experience at Angie’s Dog Grooming as stress free and fun as possible for each pet. We give them breaks, offer them water and we often spend some time stealing all the snuggles!

You can't rush quality and compassion! Each day is different as each pet has their own personality! We can only play with the cards we're dealt and sometimes we're quicker and some days take more time.

Never fear, we never forget your furbaby is in our care! We will always call or text you before we're done to pre-arrange a pick up time!

Please don't just show up, we might have your pet on the table and once they see you they get so excited to show off their new 'do that it makes it really difficult to finish the groom! 🐾

We strive to get your pet finished in a timely but safe manner. Please remember to be respectful to our staff . It is dangerous for us to feel like we are in a rush to finish your pet. I can promise we do the best we can to get them done as quick as we possibly.

I need to drop my dog off on my way to work and pick him up in the evening. Is this going to be OK?

Unless pre discussed-
So, in answer to the question…it depends. Your pet will be evaluated during its first visit. Disruptive dogs, scared dogs, elderly dogs and MAJOR barking dogs are not welcome for an all day stay. All dogs are on a case by case basis. Any dog that will staying longer than 1 hour after the groom or bath is finished by owner’s choice will be charged a $10 – $15 supervision fee

Extreme temperatures like summer heat can burn dog paws, which makes for an uncomfortable experience for you and your pup.

Dogs walking or running on hot surfaces like hot pavement can result in burned dog paws. This includes sand, gravel, driveways, streets, parking lots, boat docks, or even the back of a pick-up truck. Basically, any surface that heats up in the summertime – or even on sunny days in the fall or winter – can quickly create burns and blisters.
