Swingin' D Horse Rescue saves at-risk horses from the slaughter pipeline, nurses them to health and prepares them for Happily Ever After with responsible adopters. We bail horses in the slaughter pipeline or in danger of entering the slaughter pipeline, nurse them to health and match them with owners who will cherish them and make them feel useful. er - SDHR is all about making dreams come true. We invest a minimum of $1,200 in each horse we rescue - regardless of the bail amount. Our horses are available for an adoption fee, which partially reimburses us and allows us to rescue more horses. We price them so they won't be flipped or resold for slaughter. We'll provide a receipt for your tax-deductible donation upon request. We are a 501(c)3 private foundation and an Oklahoma non-profit corporation.

You may notice that we rarely post on Facebook. Our page has been suppressed for over a year for posting a raffle item from our annual fund drive (which we're now unable to hold because of Facebook's restrictions). The image in no way violated Facebook's community guidelines, but try arguing that with an anti-2A robot.

While Facebook promotes other horse rescues so that they can gain followers, our traffic is suppressed, which means fewer people see our amazing accomplishments, and fewer donations to support our work. We've picked up just nine followers since our eternal punishment began in November 2024. Meanwhile, I watch new followers flood in on other pages I manage. Our posts are seen by almost no one.

No warning. No explanation. No appeal. NO VIOLATION OF ANY KIND.

If you run across our posts about our amazing volunteers and horses, please be sure to share. It may be the only way to get our message out.

We could not be more proud of Anastasia, our special needs mare that's been in wooden clogs off and on for 5 years. Today, Scoots farrier service removed Ani's final set and graduated her to padded shoes. If we can keep her stable through the searing temperatures, she may be able to go barefoot in a month or two.

Through years of painful discoveries and trial and error, we've spent countless thousands of dollars on vets, medications, supplements, treatments, therapies, special shoes, farriers, insulation, HVAC, and more to diagnose, treat, and stabilize our little angel.

Thanks to all the donors who helped to support Ani on her journey. God willing, this is the payoff!

JOIN OUR TEAM of dedicated volunteers! If you're a reliable hard worker with a few hours a week to spare, we're in need of volunteers to work one day a week to feed, muck, groom, and help care for our herd. This is hard work - especially in the summer and winter - and we count on our volunteers to be here when scheduled, so be ready to commit!

Great for students who need community service hours, horse lovers, retired folks, and generous souls who are used to getting sweaty and dirty. If you're looking for a calling that lets you make wonderful friends (horse and human) and go home satisfied and proud of your hard work, go to our website and fill out an application. We'll contact you to set up a time for training and orientation.
