Meet River. He is a 10 mo old recently neutered pup. While absolutely adorable, he could use finishing school. He can be best described as a rowdy teenager. He's skittish when meeting new people or in a new environment. He loves to bark and loves running in the backyard of his foster's home. May be good in agility training. He is picky with dog friends. He enjoys the ladies and loves to tussle. He will need training on leash walking and a family that knows collies. His adopter must be willing to devote time and attention to help River achieve superstar status. Due to his young age and activity level, he will require a fence 5 ft or higher. He would be better suited with a family with older teenagers or an adopter that works at home that has time for him. Could you be his human? (Please - serious applicants only.)

If you think you may be interested in him AND have already submitted an application AND had a home visit done AND vet references have been completed, please contact us at [email protected]. In fairness to those who have been already waiting for a collie to adopt, we will consider those applicants first. We have several collies in foster care, so if you have not yet submitted an application, we encourage you to do one. Our application can be found on our website at CRLNE.org.

Winslow is estimated to be between 2-4 years of age, mahogany, neutered male. He weighs about 56 lbs., although we think his ideal weight would be around 60-62 lbs. He is good with other dogs, kids over the age of 10 and confident cats. He knows basic commands, has proven to be effectively trained with tasty treats and seeks attention through petting and head smooches. He would be best in a home with another dog(s) as he originally came from a multi-dog household and is in a multi-dog foster household. Winslow is not yet housetrained but can pick this up with positive reinforcement. Winslow is a high-energy collie and loves his 2x daily walks and free access to a fenced in yard. His recall was quite good from the start and will only get better with dedicated practice. Winslow is a nibbler when he is excited, anxious and in meeting new people. This behavior does not span from a place of aggression, rather, anxiety and attention seeking. Takes Trazodone for anxiety/restlessness with evening meal (100mg) and sometimes with morning meal if needed. That can be reevaluated with adoptive vet and veterinarian when he is comfortable in his new home. Winslow sleeps by the side of the fosters bed and waits for her to wake up in the morning for pets and love. Foster believes Winslow's new opportunity at life could include hiking, exploring in the woods, going for adventures with the family, etc. Foster recommends Winslow attend obedience training of some kind to build confidence and establish a trusting relationship with owner.

If you think you may be interested in him AND have already submitted an application AND had a home visit done AND vet references have been completed, please contact us at [email protected]. The annual CRLNE&NY picnic will be held on Saturday, September 13th at Stratham Hill Park, Stratham NH. Sandwiches, cookies and beverages will be served. Bring your collie(s)! We will even have cookies for them.

The lovely hand painted vase was expertly done by artist Barbara Guitas, and it will be raffled off at the picnic. Each attendee will receive a free raffle ticket.

All are welcome to attend. You do not need to be a member to attend nor does your collie need to be one of our rescues. If you do not have a collie currently, you are welcome to attend and get your collie fix. The more the merrier!

Meet Riley. He is a handsome guy of 7 years old. He knows the commands ‘come, stay, sit, down.’ He loves walking, and he loves his humans. He is very friendly towards people and other dogs. He will try to jump up on people to greet them, so some further training will be helpful. He rarely barks and would do well with another non-dominant dog. Would not be good with young children simply because he would knock them over with exuberance.

Riley loves food (we hear ya, Riley!) and loves to sleep on a couch or bed. He will bark, whine and cry and otherwise be dramatic if placed in a crate or kennel. He’s also not a fan of being in a car. He chases hens and cats. He has tested positive for Lyme and has had a course of antibiotics. Is on Gabapentin daily. He should be tested again in early October and may need to have a repeat course of an antibiotic if the Lyme titer is still elevated.

If you think you may be interested in Riley AND have already submitted an application AND had a home visit done AND vet references have been completed, please contact us at [email protected]. In fairness to those who have been already waiting for a collie to adopt, we will consider those applicants first. We have several collies in foster care at this time, so if you have not yet submitted an application, we encourage you to do one. Our application can be found on our website at CRLNE.org.

Five years ago we were busy placing these guys! Recognize anyone?

Fast forward to today. We have several new fosters that are in varying states of readiness to be adopted. Some have to be spayed/neutered. We also have some pairs that need to be adopted together. Please keep in mind that we do not post all our collies on our page for various reasons. If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website at CRLNE.org and apply. We will NOT hold any collie waiting for the completion of an application. We will choose from those applications already approved in fairness to those who have been waiting for a collie.

The princess is now a week postop and doing well. Her incision looks great. No results yet from the biopsy of the bladder stones collected. Findings will determine next steps. She is a sweet love bug. Thrilled that she is not in any more pain. ❤️🐾

Someone recently said when you get a rescue, you don’t know what you’re getting. It is true that we don’t often know their background or their pedigree, but we DO know our adopters will get a lot of love. That last line says it all. CRLNE&NY alum Shelby agrees.
