This big handsome boy is hoping to be adopted soon!

Hercules is a big, goofy, playful guy who hasn't met a living creature he didn't like. He's great with other dogs, didn't mind a cat at all, and has a soft spot for kids! This boy is ALWAYS happy and loves to cuddle with his humans. He likes a good game of fetch, enjoys running and wrestling with his pup friends, and settles down nicely after play.
He is just about 1 month away from graduating training class and is doing a fantastic job learning and showing off his skills. He knows sit, stay, down, leave it, come, shake, let's go, wait, and more!

He is 68 lbs., up to date on vaccines, flea treatment, and dewormer. He's neutered and microchipped.

He will be available for adoption straight out of PPP Training and we are taking applications now!

UPDATE…a new date has been added!

Hey guys… Scooby here with some fantastic news! The super nice adoption coordinator for the Dogs of Del Norte has offered to give my buddy Hercules and I a short furlough from Pelican Bay State Prison if anyone is interested in adoption and would like to meet us!!!
The trip will leave Crescent City crazy early on Sunday (12/08), headed up I5 North through Oregon and parts of Washington.
Check out my bio on this page…look for Hercules too!
If interested in meeting us, reach out on messenger and our pack mother will arrange it! The online adoption form is pinned to the top of our page. Get those applications in soon and one of these really great dogs could be your new family member!
Please let us know asap, as it takes some work to set up our furlough and secure our spot on the transport. 🐾💙😊💙🐾

On this day in 2021, Prison Paws Partnership was launched!
PPP has had 40 inmate handlers and 61 dogs in the program!
Thanks so much to our followers, supporters, sponsors, adopters, PBSP staff members, PBSP staff sponsor, volunteers, and dog handlers!
The first three years have been a pleasure, and we look forward to many more years to come!

Sending out a Happy Thanksgiving today to everyone! We are so very thankful for all of you.... our followers, supporters, sponsors, adopters, PBSP staff members, PBSP staff sponsor, volunteers, and dog handlers! You have all made it possible to continue our dog training program and helped better the lives of 61 dogs!

We apologize... We attempted a second time to get handler/dog photos in front of the beautiful wall murals.... When the photos were being downloaded for us, it was discovered that the camera malfunctioned and ALL photos were blurry and unusable! ☹️
We will try again on Monday!

This big guy is Scooby and he is waiting patiently to be adopted.
This one-year-old mixed breed is a sweet and silly boy! I'll post his DNA results in the comments.
Scooby is a little bit shy/nervous when meeting new people but relaxes pretty quickly. He is a playful guy who loves to run and wrestle with his dog friends. His best buddies are Cash and Hercules!
Scooby has met a cat and would do okay in a home with one, with proper introduction. He likes kids too!
He weighs approximately 60 pounds. He is up to date on vaccines, flea treatment, and dewormer. He's neutered and microchipped.

Scooby has been working hard in training classes and has picked the cues up fairly quickly. He knows sit, stay, let's go, wait, leave it, come, and more! We are only a month away from graduating and he will be available for adoption straight out of PPP Training and we are taking applications now!

UPDATE… Dempsey met with a lovely family yesterday. The meet went very well and Dempsey had a great time playing with the super playful/high energy dog in the family. I left with high hopes that they’d choose adoption.

Well…. I received word this morning…
Dempsey is ADOPTED and will go home shortly after graduation!!! 🐾🤗🩷🤗🐾

UPDATE…. This trip led to several foster-to-adopt homes and we are very happy for them!

Unfortunately, Duke didn’t find his happily everafter yet. We KNOW his person is out there, they just don’t know it yet!

Please think happy thoughts for Duke, as he travels up north tomorrow to meet a potential adopter! ☺️

Happy Sunday! First, I'd like to apologize for the lack of posts lately! I have been needed at home to provide aftercare after a major spinal/neck surgery. I am BACK!

Next, the DNA results are in! You can make any final guesses now if you'd like. :) I will be sharing the results with the dog handlers tomorrow evening during training and I'll post here shortly after.

Look at this little beauty! Dempsey has made a lot of chnanges over the past several weeks. She's blossomed into such a funny, playful, and absolutely gorgeous girl! This one-year-old mixed breed was a little on the timid side in the early days of training, but she has really come out of her shell and loves everyone!
Dempsey enjoys the company of other dogs, but she "really" loves to cuddle with her person. Dempsey has met a cat and was happy to step aside and let the cat through. She likes kids too!
She was under weight and had horrible skin and some hair loss due to fleas when she first arrived at the dog pound, but just look at her now...Stunning! At 26 lbs., she is full grown and won't get any larger.
We have administered the DNA test and are waiting for results. Curious to know what this little lady is made of??? So are we! She is the perfect size and temperament, full of personality, and an all-round lovely lady!
She is up to date on vaccines, flea treatment, and dewormer. She's spayed and microchipped.
