Sitting in the barn at 12:30 at night. Duncan has had colic all afternoon. He has twisted his gut. The vet is on the way to put my wonderful boy to sleep. He is full of banamine right now so not rolling. My heart is shattered. I don't think I have ever loved a horse or connected with one like I did with my beautiful Cee Who Dun It, aka Duncan. Soon he will fly with the angels pain free and whole again. I love him so much.

Good bye Sweet Boy He is gone, left this world at 1:21. I will always love you Duncan, It has been an honor and a privilege to know and love you.

Vet just left will monitor him thru the night...Update, just got off phone with vet, prognosis is not good, no p**p, pain and distended abdomen. Gums are pale extremities cold to touch, my vet feared a possible twist . Duncan is 26 and I will not put him through colic surgery. Vet will be here soon.
Prayers and healing thoughts for Duncan...he has all the symptoms of colic. Vet has been here and treated him, we are waiting to so if he passes manure. As far as walking, they have found it actually does little to relieve colic and can tire a compromised horse out. Add to this the fact this is an intact stallion walking him around a property full of mares could be very stressfull.

Duncan is getting better and better...feet are growing out and getting healthy. He will never be for sale. The people that should have cared for him and kept him safe failed him and he almost died. So no he will not ever go back to the world that only cares if they can get babies out of him for his genetics.

Cee Who Dun It aka Duncan doesn't even look like the same horse.. He has spirit and energy and a will to survive. The bandage is because, as his feet were trimmed last Sunday, an abscess was uncovered and is now being treated.

Tonight was the first time I was able to brush Old Man without him flinching in pain. The crud on his back is gone, feet were trimmed on Sunday and he is feeling so much better. He even talked to the mares tonight while in turnout. He walks with his head up and interested in the world around him. So different from the depressed and sad boy that arrived 2 weeks ago.
