I had a customer bring in a pedestal mount that took a fall. The only damage that was noticeable was the nose. But after further examining the mount, I found many many issues and actually convinced the customer to trust me in completely redoing the entire mount. And all I can say is WTF?!? š¤¬š¤¬š¤¬
I know the price this customer paid for this mount, and with every step of taking this mount apart the more and more angry I got. Whatās so shameful is that people can charge outrageous prices for absolute s**t work, and still sleep at night.
The taxidermist didnāt bother toā¦.
1.) clean the skull cap, as you can see it still had meat on it. (No idea how he didnāt have bug damage)
2.) rough the mold, the layer of mold release was still on the mold along with the mold number.
3.) the ears are about an inch thick with bondo (which I couldnāt repair)
4.) the eyes were caked with so much apoxie clay his eye lids almost touched the pupil of the eye. And painted to make the poor deer have black eyes.
I am only two years into my taxidermy business and I will stand behind all my work, if there is an issue with any job Iāve done I want my customers to bring them back to me so that I can make it right, because itās my name on that work.
I CANNOT/WILL NOT understand how people donāt give a s**t about their own work, and not feel horrible for screwing people out of money.
