♥️Meet Nicky !!

Nicky was picked up by animal control in Galveston County. 8 days at the shelter and he tested positive for parvo. Not many rescues are willing to intake parvo positive babies, but we are! 🖤

Nick is carefully being treated & hopefully will recover quickly. ♥️

Meet Hope.

Hope was a stray in Cleveland Tx.
She was picked up by animal control then brought to the pound. She’s over 10 years old, she has several mammary gland tumors.

This girl needs a quiet foster, she is dog friendly but prefers the lower energy ones. If anyone would like to foster Hope for a little while please reach out.

Blu update !!

Yesterday Blu had his IV removed. Today he tested negative for parvo! He has been stable for 2 days, he is eating and drinking on his own and very spunky and playful.

Blu will continue to be in isolation for a bit to insure he does not expose anyone else to the virus since his body is still shedding it.

Blue is about 14 weeks old, he knows sit, he is very attentive and is highly trainable.

Dusty update !!!

Dusty is still fragile, However he is mobile. He has lost all the muscle in his back end, it’s a chore to get him out and moving. He rather stay in his bed in his kennel where he feels safe.

Dusty likely will be handicap the rest of his life. Dusty is neutered, vaccinated, Heart-worm negative, he is cat friendly & dog friendly. He is very sweet but will take a special person to give him the extra attention he needs.

Dusty will have another check in with the orthopedic vet this coming week.

Splinter is improving daily. He is learning not all humans are bad. His skin is healing, we are struggling to get weight put in him. He is a picky eater it’s obvious he has only been fed trash or human food.

We are working on it and have ordered some food toppers to encourage him to eat the dry food.

Hi Friends !
Thursday we purchased a Building that will be converted into a Parvo Ward!
(building costs $4,600)
-We have ordered 4 stainless Steel tables totaling to $401
-2 isolation kennels totaling to $700

When the building is delivered we will need to put steel sheets up on the walls for a non porous surface that can be properly sanitized.
This will be an additional $1200-$1500.

We hope to have this up and running by the end of August.

When you are a starving stray in the morning & then a 10 year old human girls bestie by evening.

Everyone meet Bingo the red Merle Aussie girl.

I actually spotted this girl over a week ago at the local dumping ground the minute I stopped my car to try to help her. She took off into the woods and I haven’t seen her since.

Today while heading to do some parvo building shopping it was storming and I guess pushed her out of her hiding spot.

She did hesitate a bit but was very excited to get in the car.

Bingo is very thin, she is settling in well after eating 2 cheeseburgers.

Texas Animal Rescue Rehab of Crosby needs help !!

•TARR is expanding, we are working hard to add a Parvovirus Ward to our rescue.
•An estimated 900 dogs are diagnosed with Parvo in the US daily', and if left untreated, face up to a 91% mortality rate.
•This structure will Accommodate 6-8 puppies at once throughout treatment and recovery. This building will help us expand the number of dogs/puppies we are able to successfully rehab.
•Because canine parvovirus is highly contagious, dogs confirmed to be infected need to be isolated from other dogs to minimize spread of infection. Adding this building will give us proper facility to take in more infected puppies.
•We have successfully treated over 25 parvo puppies in just this last year, adding this structure we hope to intake 50-75 parvo positive puppies per year. �•We work closely with our veterinarian, Prompt, intensive treatment improves the chance of survival.
•Texas Animal Rescue Rehab currently pulls parvo positive puppies from area shelters and frequently off the streets in our community in Huffman & Crosby.
•We need your support, we are asking for donations to help get this project complete.
•What we need:
Building Costs $5,000-6,000 �Includes building, ac/heat, insulation, walls, flooring, electric & plumbing.

Goose update.

This baby is feeling so much better.
His little tummy is FULL, he does have a little cough but we are treating him for it. His parvo test was negative yesterday.

He seems to be 5 weeks old, still trying to figure out how to eat out of a bowl, he still wants to nurse. Seems like this guy wasn’t weaned and just ripped right away from mom.

He is recovering well. ♥️

Texas Animal Rescue Rehab welcomes Aspen 🖤

Aspen was found running the streets of Houston, full of fleas with inflamed skin & toenails so long they were curling into her paw pads. This girl was picked up by a gentleman who tried to take her into Harris County Shelter but was turned away because she was found in Barc Jurisdiction.

Lucky for little Aspen, one of our friends & fosters happened to be at the shelter that day & told him that she would take the dog.

Aspen happened to be microchipped to a breeder 5 hours away. He knew that she was born in 2018 and the buyer never registered her chip information. He is no longer breeding dogs and asked our friend to get her into a rescue for safety.

It’s obvious that she was used for breeding & has had several litters & c sections.

Aspen was seen by our vet last week. She received medicine for her skin issues, dewormer & is on the road to recovery. She will get her vaccines and spay in a few weeks.

We have had lots of puppies adopted through the months of June and July, here are some reminders to help get through the puppy stage.

🐶Setting Your Puppy Up For Success🐶

It is important to make sure you and your puppy start off on the right “paw,” so we have prepared the following tips to help guide you toward a successful life together.

🏠 Making a House a Home
Puppy-proofing your home is the first step in creating a comfortable and safe space for your new friend. Begin by thinking of places your puppy could get into. Place baby locks/straps on low cabinets that may contain household cleaning products or other hazardous items, and remove any objects that are low to the ground as they could become potential chew toys. You may also want to consider using baby gates to keep your new puppy out of certain areas of the home.
Crate training is also a great way to keep your puppy from getting into mischief when you are unable to supervise them. Not only does it give your puppy a safe place to go when he/she needs a break, but crates can also aid in the house training process. Dogs naturally seek den-like spaces and do not want to lay or eat where they urinate or defecate.

⚾️ Let’s Play!
What do you do for fun and mental stimulation? Humans can often be found completing crossword puzzles and Sudoku to mentally enrich our lives, and our pets need the same type of mental enrichment. This is especially important for puppies who are still exploring the world and need to be exposed to new items and textures for socialization purposes.

Quick Tips
Provide both mental and physical enrichment with toys and exercise
Engage your pup’s senses through “scent walks” and introductions to new places and faces
Make sure to give your pup playtime (and naptime) every day

🐕 Training Time
Providing your puppy with the best environment for training is extremely important if you want a successful training process. Implementing the previous two sections will create a great foundation and are both considered forms of training. Both structure and enrichment will help your puppy associate you with positive things, and in turn they will be more willing to learn from you!
Make sure that you are also using the correct training strategy. Puppies go through periods of fear during their development, so we recommend using training methods based on positive reinforcement. You do not want your new friend to associate you with fear, so avoid this by rewarding behaviors you want and never punishing negative behavior no matter how frustrated you become. Puppies are sponges — what you see is not what you get — and it is extremely important to avoid punishment.

Quick Tips
Reward good behavior and ignore unwanted behavior
Stay consistent with your rules to avoid confusing your pet
Practice makes perfect, so keep at it

She is under 8lbs. She is a very sweet girl.
Chia loves to cuddle up in a bed & loves human attention.

❗️❗️Reposting because someone that’s immature is flagging our posts !!

❤️‍🩹Meet Splinter.
Splinter was dumped in a rural area where dogs are frequently dumped, left to die. He was roaming and found shade under a rv. The lady who was staying in the rv reached out for help.
He can hardly walk. His hip bones are pushing sores through his thin skin. He is in a lot of pain and can not stand. He has sunburns on his head & face. He is estimated to be only 12 months old and he is Heartworm positive.
He's full of intestinal worms, he has a nasty skin infection & mange.
Splinter is 41lbs and should be 75-80, he is nearly 1/2 the weight he should be. Today Splinter is getting all fixed up at Dayton Vet Clinic.

Sweet June is about 7 months old and is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, utd on preventatives, she is kennel trained and is doing great on house breaking. She sleeps throughout the night in her kennel without any issues.

She is cat, dog, farm animal and kid friendly.

June is ready to be in her own home.

Cookie is still looking for her forever home.
She is about 16 weeks old.
Spayed, utd on all vaccines, microchipped. Has started Heartworm prevention & has been dewormed regularly.

Cookie knows how to sit and is mostly kennel trained she sleeps through the night with no issues in her kennel. She does well in the house with frequent potty breaks. Cookie is cat & dog friendly.
She would do best in a home with older kids as she is a large puppy and doesn’t realize her size. She will be 80-100lbs as an adult.

Cookie loves to run and play so a yard is a must.
