Sandi
Sandi is home from the hospital, she is resting well and being such a sweet girl. Her little spirit is broken from the trauma she has experienced. We are hoping with our love and support she will start feeling better and trust humans again.
Sandi has 7 screws and a plate piecing her bones back together. In 2 weeks we go back to the vet to get her cast changed and to check on the incision.
Stay tuned for more updates on Sandi.

We are awaiting a detailed update from the orthopedic veterinarian regarding her condition and the required treatments. Maggie will undergo surgery this afternoon while our orthopedic vet is in our clinic.
We will have an update on this sweet angel this afternoon.
Orthopedic Surgeries are very Costly, along with after care and follow up appointments. Please donate to help Maggie receive the necessary

Dusty Update
Dusty is Finally walking on his own. He still has a very long way to go.
Tomorrow we get to see the orthopedic vet. His stitches will come out and hopefully we will get good news on his progress. It has been a month since his surgery & I feel like he should have progressed a little bit more than he has. He stays hunched over while walking, & frequently knuckles his left back side.
Keep Dusty in your thoughts ♥️
Will post an update tomorrow.
Help !!

Meet Dustin
Around 11pm Wednesday night we received a disturbing message regarding a puppy hit on the highway unable to walk or move.
We named him Dustin aka Dusty.
He is 10-12 months old. We initially thought he was a little older. He is a Hound mix of some sort. He is emaciated weighing 26lbs and should be closer to 35lbs.
He has a broken Pelvis. He will have surgery in 2 weeks to plate his pelvis back together and have his femoral head removed (FHO).
This was an unexpected intake for me. Honestly when I told the girl who found him to bring him to me i thought he would be one that we would help cross the rainbow bridge. In rescue we have to think of all that comes with saving a dog, including the future of the dog. Are we going to be able to find anyone to adopt him? (He is an older puppy that most rescues wouldn’t help because he isn’t cute and fluffy or highly adoptable) He will be hard to place in a home, and I am fully aware. However after meeting him and spending some time with him he DESERVES a chance. After all he didn’t choose any of this. This happened to him bc of a human neglecting their dog & somehow he ended up on the highway hit by a car. He was in need and needed help. There was a post on Facebook 3 days ago regarding a few dogs on hwy 90 and one was hit. I can’t find the post but I am wondering if he was the one hit and sat in the tall grass for 2 days before he was able to move.
For the next 10 days I will be caring fully for Dusty as he cannot move. I will be cleaning up after him when he goes potty, rotating him a few times a day so he doesn’t get sore staying in one position. Washing his bedding, wiping him down constantly so he doesn’t get urine scalding. Getting up in the middle of the night to tend to him when he isn’t settled. I will be holding his bowls for him to eat and drink, sit with him when he is lonely.
After his surgery this care will continue until he is recovered.
Why ?? Because i have learned a lot in rescue, and
Gunner
Gunner is very intelligent. He knows all his commands. He is fully house broken and kennel trained. He is roughly 85-90lbs and would do better as an only dog.
Bunny girl.

Our sweet tiny Petrie passed away this morning while at Dayton Vet receiving a blood transfusion. We did everything we could to save her. She possibly had a liver shunt or heart defect. We are extremely saddened by this. 😞

Mikey is freshly with us from the pound. This morning we discovered that Mikey is a really smart boy.
He knows sit, paw/shake, down, rollover & I think speak.
He also knows what “kennel up” means.
Mikey is Heart worm negative & will be neutered Wednesday of this week.
Mikey then will be ready for adoption.
To be prequalified to adopt Mikey please send us a message.
Meet Freya 1 of the 3 girls dumped this past Sunday went to the vet today. She received her dhpp & rabies vaccine, been dewormed & has moved to a foster. Her 2 sisters still need someone to step up and foster them. Next is spay !!!
Freya is one of the three unfortunate girls who got abandoned by their owner just a week ago. Despite all that she has been through, today was an important day for Freya as she took another step towards starting afresh after receiving her much-needed rabies vaccine before moving into her temporary foster where she will be cared for until a permanent family can take her in - together with her friend Franklin!
