Keeping our feline friends safe is our top priority! While it's true that cats need enrichment and stimulation, the great outdoors isn't always the safest option anymore. With more people, cars, and wildlife encroachment, outdoor free-roaming can be risky for our whiskered friends.

We learned this firsthand with Jalapeño, who was trapped and thought to be a community cat or feral. He never approached us while outside, but we were shocked when he followed us after being released from the trap! It turns out, he was just waiting for the right moment to show us his affectionate side.

If you’re set on “fresh air” for your kitties, we recommend safe and fun alternatives like patios or enclosed outdoor spaces where your cat can enjoy fresh air and sunshine without the dangers. Of course, some cats like true ferals and community cats are adapted to outdoor life, but even they face shorter lifespans due to the risks.

Let's keep our kitties safe and happy indoors with plenty of love, playtime, and enrichment to keep them perfectly content! Jalapeño is living proof that even the toughest exterior can hide a softie inside!

🌟 Alert!🌟

The ultimate squad: 5 sassy ginger cuties + 1 adorable brown tabby!

You might recall Matilda, the mama cat who stole our hearts after finding her precious kittens. She was incredibly ill though somehow delievered kittens successfully in the outdoor elements. Matilda then had emergency surgery for a severe diaphragmatic hernia. Well, say hello to her precious little miracles! Her tiny bundles of joy (plus an addition) were bottle-fed from day one and have grown into the most lovable furballs ever.

It takes a village to raise these little ones, and we're so grateful for the love and support you've all shown them (and their mom)! Thanks to our amazing foster team, medical team, and everyone who's donated time, resources, and snuggles… we couldn't do it without you!

Jocassee is a true jewel. This sweet boy, who was pulled from Greenville County Animal Care, is healing up beautifully and spreading love wherever he goes. Despite the challenges he's faced, Jocassee remains a shining example of resilience and joy. Our plan is for neuter and a dental within the coming weeks as well as for continued wound healing.

This year has been one of the toughest in rescue, with record-high intakes and slower adoptions. But even in the face of these challenges, our TVM village remains strong and united. We're in this together and together, we'll get through it. Let's keep pushing forward, supporting each other, and shining a light on the kitties who need us most.

The cries for help are deafening, and our hearts are breaking for the countless cats and kittens in need. Though sometimes we’d like to just pull the blankets over our heads and curl up in bed, we refuse to turn our backs on those who need us most.

We're doing everything in our power to help as many feline friends as possible, but we can't do it alone. It takes a village to care for these precious lives, and we need your help. Join us in our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever families for these precious souls.

Together, let's create a wave of compassion and hope for the voiceless felines who deserve our love and care.

We are in need of additional volunteers to help clean and play with cats that are located in the adoption center inside the PetSmart in Spartanburg. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Times are flexible. Ideally we would like to have volunteers who can commit to cleaning one day a week, but every other week is also an option as well as occasional back up for open days.

Responsibilities include cleaning the cages of all resident cats, replacing food and water, scooping litter boxes and replenishing litter as needed, spending time with each of the cats so they get some time to play and be loved on, reporting any concerns to the rescue leadership such as possible illness or stress. If interested, please send a private message with your contact information so our volunteer coordinator can connect with you.

Meet our newest rescue, a handsome gray boy who's stolen our hearts! This sweet boy was pulled from the local animal shelter with a broken leg that required amputation, BB injuries from being shot in the other leg, wounds on his neck, dental disease, and will require crypto . And if that wasn't enough, he's also dealing with a large wound near his surgical incision site. Despite all he's been through, he's still a biscuit-making king and the sweetest boy you'll ever meet!

He's currently on pain meds and antibiotics to help manage his discomfort and fight off infection. But we can't do this alone - it takes a village to help him heal and find his forever home. Will you join us in supporting his journey?

A second chance at a happy life is more than deserved!

This isn't the normal “Feel Good Friday” post. This is a spay and neuter your cats post. This is a don't leave your cats behind post. This is a call to action for responsible pet ownership and accountability to the animals in your care (and those that may not be pets but that you feed).

This sweet boy wandered into a Good Samaritan's garage, and by the photos, you can see the state of his health. Despite efforts to save him, including initial vetting and care from a kind lady, as well as intake and additional vetting scheduled with us today, we could not intervene quickly enough. Sadly, his chronic poor health took its toll, and he succumbed last night.

This is a poignant reminder of the importance of spaying/neutering and caring for our pets. We can prevent tragedies such as this.

🥰 Cuteness for daysssss! 🥰

Our tiny bundles of joy are now 8 days old! They're already showing off their big kid skills by chugging down bottles like pros.

And the excitement doesn't stop there... their little peepers are expected to open this week! Stay tuned for a whole new level of adorable with these cuties.

Their mama, Matilda, also had a phenomenal Sunday and Monday as well as a reassuring veterinary checkup today. We hope she’s on the mend as these baby juice boxes will be rambunctious in no time.

🌸Freya and Flora - female - 4 months old🌸
