Doubled the size of the girls pen last night! Now I just desperately need to find wooden spools to build their new play ground! They are enjoying the extra space at the moment! Look how brown everything is! 😭😭😭 we need rain so bad!

The coturnix quail are in lockdown. I’ve never tried to separate out types before and have no idea of this will work but a friend’s daughter has a specific egg she wants hatched for her and I’d love to keep
The celadon chicks separated. We will see how it goes! Wish me luck! There are bobwhite quail in the turners still because they take a few more days. Happy hatching!

Quail batch number 2 just went in the incubator! 70 coturnix from my girls, 15 celadon coturnix from one of mine that is laying blue eggs, and 36 bobwhites! Hatching for friends also with this bunch ☺️

The coturnix quail got a new cage and moved outside yesterday! Less than a month old and almost fully feathered already!

Egg Shell Sculpture 🐔
Thought this needed a spotlight - so very unusual.
Really what sparks the idea of using egg shells to create a chicken.
Not only did the artist capture a perfect form, but needs a round of applause for working with such a fragile medium.
Simply fab !!

Final counts on this hatch: 26 coturnix quail, 6 button quail, 6 spitzhauben chicks and 1 Mille De Fleur D’Uccle chick. Not too horrible considering I almost lost them all! My living room is currently a little bird nursery 😁😁

Little tiny button quail eggs on lockdown! Wish them luck because their incubator failed on them during their second day and they were in the low 90s for two days before the replacement came. 😢😢They were too small and dark to candle but they should start hatching tomorrow if they are alive! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Hello followers!!!! I know I have been a bit MIA the last year but there have been a lot of things going on and I’m finally getting everything back in order!!

Some important updates!

1) the direction of my page is going to be changing a bit to include everything on my “farm”. I still have 6 species of isopods colonies that are going strong but I have decided to put that on hold for a little bit. I also have stopped breeding hedgehogs due to the EXTREME drama related to that part of the pet business. I still love them so much but I will not be breeding any longer.

2) Focus of this page will now turn towards more of the farm part of my life but will still include all my exotic pets too! So I understand if I lose some of you because it’s no longer an interest but I hope to see most of you still on here!

So welcome to my revamped farm page to include my obsession with Nigerian Dwarf Goats, chickens, quail, and all things homsteading and gardening!
