Morning meds with Eugene!
Apparantly he doesn't like mealworms but we still love him.
Caviar surprised us during evening med rounds last night, by giving birth to 3 little white fluffs! Welcome to the world Fugu, Uni and Beluga!
Caviar did such a great job and is doing well! She happily accepted a cilantro, strawberry and sweet potato salad after the delivery.
Bonding with Bun
The best way to bond with a new rabbit is to sit/lie in one spot, talk nicely to them, and let them approach you. Conway is already getting a lot more comfy with us and comes up to us in a curious way. Rabbits are prey animals, so a passive approach to interaction is often the best way to earn their trust and affection. And of course, good snacks!
New baby rats just dropped!
We welcomed these 8 babies to Lost Woods this week, their owners were surprised when the female rat they purchased was pregnant! An unacceptably common occurrence.
They will be 5 weeks old on Sunday and will be going into the vet saturday to be examined and have their sexes confirmed. If all goes well they should be adoptable next week! They are well socialized but like all baby rats, they are very fast.
Oh no the turtle is boiling!!
Just kidding, Cricket is just enjoying his filter bubbles.
Mama Meringue, big sister Caviar and babies Trifle, Champagne, and Panna Cotta are all settling in after their rescue by Animal Control Officers yesterday!
What a sweet girl! Ruby eyed white bunnies tend to sit longer in rescues and shelters, but also tend to be curious, friendly, and lovable. Tammy here is proof of that.
Peek a boo!
These babies are 4.5 weeks old and this is their last day in the nursery! Tomorrow they will go to the vet to confirm their sexes and the boys will be separated out.
But this means they can also go off to their forever homes! Most of these cuties already have adopters but might need one more family.
