So when she went on a weekend getaway with a volunteer, she was smitten by all the new things she got to try....getting on the couch, watching TV, following her humans everywhere. 💥Boo-boo is the ultimate buddy. He loves people and has balanced energy. Good in crate and in car. Good on leash and around new people. He’s open to anything his family has planned. Not a loud dog either. A big loving gentle boy looking for a home.

If you're in a giving mood this lovely Thursday, an Independent Rescuer in Fort Worth is taking in 2 senior horses and a rescue dog. Max, the dog, will be up for adoption once he's fixed, microchipped and up to date on shots. The two senior horses will stay with them to live out their golden years. They are hosting a fundraiser to help pay for Max and to help get the horses what they need in their new home. Any donation you can give is greatly appreciated!

It's big girl BRITNEY...the one with the infectious smile! This adorable little lady was captured in rural Texas by an Independent Rescuer and was never claimed. She appears to do well with large dogs, loves going on walks and adventures, and is a total goof. She's been waiting for someone to choose her for over 2 years now, it's time she finally gets a home!

GINGER is basically considered a sanctuary dog right now since she's been at the rescue 3+ years. We're not sure if she'll ever find a home. Since she comes from a rough past, she needs someone who doesn't have too much foot traffic in the home, has no other pets, and will come out to the rescue a few times to meet her. She's weary with new people, but she can become your best friend if you show her love and patience!

It's TWIX & TUCKER!!! These 2 rambunctious boys are still waiting 😢. Twix has been waiting at the rescue over 3 years now and Tucker a year. They have become best friends, but they only like each other, no other pets. They play hard, sleep hard and love hard. They both come from a rough past, so Tucker will be a little unsure at first, Twix will be your best friend immediately! We'd love to find them a home with a patience and willing adopter who will allow them the time that they need to adjust, because we promise there's never a dull day with these boys!

Meet Friends of Toby

Friends of Toby was founded in 2020 out of Dallas, Texas by a group of animal-loving women. They wanted to make a difference for those animals who had been waiting far too long for that loving home. We are an animal advocacy group who partners with local shelters and rescues in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They will reach out when they have an animal who is continually getting overlooked. When a group identifies an animals they need help with, Friends of Toby is able to help in many different ways: 1. We send out a volunteer photographer to take professional pictures, dress the animal up and photograph the animal outside of the shelter atmosphere. Final pictures will be shared on the website and all social media outlets. 2. We send out a volunteer videographer to shoot video of the animal to help showcase how the animals interacts with humans outside of a caged environment. Final video will be shared on the website and all social media outlets. 3. We partner with local restaurants, bars and festivals to put on adoption events and bring these animals out into the public so they are able to interact with people outside of the shelter/rescue environment. Any actively adoptable animal will always be present on our website and all social media outlets. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram under Friends of Toby! Please also share the posts so that these animals have the greatest opportunity to find a furrever home! If you are not local to DFW, but know you want to add one of our Featured Animals to your family, let us know! We can partner with different organizations that help to transport animals, if that rescue or shelter allows it!
