Lady is always a fan of a good sunset photo. Especially in the mountains. Lots of squirrel, elk/ deer and bird scent made for some fun morning runs.

Bluebonnet weather in Texas is a fun time of year. Fish are shallow, mornings can be cool, and longer days are coming! Lady enjoys the extra training time.

I don’t think you can attend a duck hunters expo without meeting the Doctor of ducks. Was great to chat dogs and hunting with while visiting the . Lady also got to meet Axel from , was awesome to see another hunting dog with a great temperament while at an event like that.

After 100 random Instagram messages over time it was great to meet with the podcast. Spent entirely way to long talking about public lands and hunting dogs. But the conversation was great and I hopefully atleast convinced him to come hunt over Lady and Santo this season. Maybe even consider adding a versatile dog 🥸🥸

Santo has gone through a bit of a change in the last 7 months… he’s turned into a fun dog to train, super willing to please, high energy, also enjoys a good head scratch on the couch. He gives a Lady a run for her money, neither of them like to lose.

Full extension on that water entry. I’ve tried tos too her from launching, whoaing her at water, sending her from water edge, even sending in the water. She jumps from start each time. I’ve learned to bring a rake when training to check for stump where I’m running and I walk about wherever I have her placed for hunts.

How many more days until dove season? Mouth full of feathers and some Texas heat… Usually quick hunts in the early morning help out. But I tend to try and find water for afternoon hunts or make sure there is some shade and water to drink for Lady… and myself 🤣🤣. Always a great shooting tune up and some retrieves with plenty of denials due to needed shooting tune up 🥸🥸.

Elevator rides were great for service training exposure. People coming in and out, doors closing, and unpredicted up and down moves. All great training tools to prepare for the unexpected when taking Lady out for service work.

Lady never let the puppies out of her sight for long. Even during picture and scent exposure times. I was lucky to have her handle a lot of the work with those pups.

Checking a new species/state off the list is going to be a new yearly goal.

Sage grouse are fun to chase: the vast amount of land and smell of sage brush as you walk is seriously something special.

Not to mention you go from mountains, to meadows, to rolling hills of sage within a few miles.
