Carrie Kenady Pet Psychic did a pet medium reading for me and my beloved Saider Raider Road Grader. She confirmed that Sadie crossed the 🌈 she told me that Sadie was still in spirit and checking in on me and knows that I kept a lit candle going for her...I know now that Sadie sent Chocolatte to heal the hole in my heart I also know that I am blessed to have the absolute support of so many people who continue to send pictures and texts of similar Sadie's. Thank you to each and every one of you who helped, donated, prayed, drove around and cried with me... you all, like my Road Grader live in my heart always. Rest in love Sadie 💜

Sadie Unleashed is still out there....199 days to be exact. We are still searching for her. We have faith that if she is still with us...she will find her way home... and our door will always be open.

Savey was the dog that was pushed out from a moving car Thursday night in Aberdeen. After she barrel rolled on the street she picked herself up and desperately tried to catch up with the car.
Our wardens brought her to the shelter that evening. Savey has been a good girl while here but understandably shook up and depressed.

Today, after her original owner saw our post on FB. He rushed to the shelter. Savey had been missing for over a year. Pictures were shared as he described her birthmarks and old scars to a tee. She had been with him since she was a small puppy.

Savey recognized him as soon as we got to the hallway of the lobby and immediately started pulling and jumping for him. Our sad depressed girl quickly became happy wiggly and overjoyed to see her person.
If we said there weren’t a few tears shed this morning we would be lying.
Take care Savey, thank you for being our miracle today.

There is a lot to be said about kindness.

Payden did it again!! For the past four years, Payden Koopmann, an eight year old animal loving Quinlan ISD student, collected dog food in lieu of presents for her Birthday. Her love for the rescue dogs is so big that she chooses this selfless decision over most kid’s excitement for toys and birthday gifts. This year, due to COVID-19, Payden had to think outside the box as she couldn’t have an in-person birthday party with her friends and family. Instead, her mom helped her with the hosting of an online fundraiser and collected enough donations to purchase 3000 lbs of dog food. That is triple the amount from last year. The sweet little lady brought all the food to the rescue last Saturday and then enjoyed some quality time with all four-legged residents while handing out treats to every dog on site. Every food donation frees up cash for other areas of the shelter’s operation, and helps us care for the animals currently residing with us. Some are temporary, some live with us until they are called upon the rainbow bridge. With puppy season in full swing and many unplanned litters brought into our care, this donation could not have come at a better time. We continue to be amazed by Payden’s commitment and her willingness to give back at such a young age.

Sadie Unleashed has been gone 102 days 😭 we have had Thanksgiving, Christmas, my birthday, her brother's birthdays, her sister's birthday, Valentines Day and the storm of the Century. 7 YEARS missing your baby for that long is awful...but Elvis found his way home. And he doesn't look too bad.

: This beautiful cat came into DAS as a stray and was thin and had patches of hair loss. But when we scanned Elvis ( ) for a microchip, we were able to make contact with his owner who was registered to the chip. we soon found out that this king of rock and roll had actually been missing for SEVEN YEARS! We're happy to report that Elvis is now happily reunited with his owner and has officially left the building and gone home!
