Microchip Feeders for the win!
Lixie (our old lady) and Hestia (our young rescue) have issues that require dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, Lixie prefers Hestia’s diet food. And when we give Lixie her meds, we have to mix it into a spoonful of wet food that Hestia can’t have.
So we got SureFeed Microchip Cat Feeders, and crossed our fingers that the cats would adjust to them.
They were super easy to set up. Both the girls have microchips, but Lixie’s had apparently migrated further away from her neck, so it wasn’t working as well. We used the enclosed collar chip for her, and it worked like a charm!
Both girls figured it out really quickly, and were very comfortable eating out of the bowls that came with the feeders. Hestia gets one deep bowl, and Lixie gets one with a separation (for her wet food/medicine).
When they close, they seal completely, so no issues with ants or bugs.
And initially, the mechanism on Hestia’s bowl was a little noisy and made a grinding sound. We contacted customer service, provided a video of the issue, and they sent out a new one!
If you have cats (or dogs) who like to steal each other’s food, I highly recommend these dishes!
