Good Shepherd Rescue of Texas Good Shepherd Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization that has been in continuous operation since 1999 in the Dallas / Ft Worth area.

We focus on rescue, rehabilitation & rehoming German Shepherd Dogs, as well as Belgian Malinois & Dutch Shepherds. All dogs in our program are in private foster homes. We provide medical care for gravely ill / injured dogs, spay / neuter, microchip, vaccinate, deworm, heartworm test & heartworm treat if applicable. 25% of our adoptions are with repeat families each year.

Dexter is a male born 07.16.24. He was the last of a litter and we scooped him up. He's adapted to big dog life really well in his foster home. Bitey face with his foster brothers is a favorite past time. Along with laying on the floor right where you need to walk.

Coggins is a handsome boy born 05.2023. He was found wandering alone, but felt safe enough to get some love and hang out with his finders pack of pups. He's doing great with all the dogs, and the humans. Cats, not sure about those purring creatures yet. He responds to basic commands and is waiting patiently for his new humans to come get him.

Todays feature dog is our boy Ronnie. He's 3 years old and just a great pup. We asked Ronnie to give some insight on what he's looking for in a furever family.

"My perfect family would be one that understands I need just a couple days to get comfortable with you. I want to be loved and snuggled, but it takes me just awhile to know my new surroundings. Once I know you guys are cool, I'd love for you to take me on lots of walks.

I really like going on walks and making sure everyone knows your my human and I'm your dog. I think cats are ok, so if you have one, that's fine. And if there is another dog around, Id like to have a sister. That would be fun."

Klassy is our feature dog today, and we asked her to give her own update. Her interview was very insightful.

"As you may have noticed, I am not a traditional looking GSD, as my blonde coloring gives me a unique appearance. My foster mom tested my DNA and I am 69% GSD and 18% Mal sprinkled with Great Pyrenees, Swiss Shepherd, and Chow Chow. She’s says 'that explains a lot' but when I ask she says 'you are 100% great dog'.

I love walking in nature with mom where I can put my nose to work tracking scents. I like car rides, going to the winery, shopping at the grocery store, and getting pets at Lowe’s.

I have the coolest foster brothers to play with. Together we hunt squirrels. We spend most of our time outside on our property, so when nighttime comes, we sleep hard on the soft beds inside with mom.

Well, that is all I have to say today except Blondes do have more FUN!"
