Therapy dog available for adoption!

Odie the therapy dog is available to the right family!

Odie is a nearly 2 year old yellow lab mix. He is in the prime of his life! EXCELLENT HEALTH! He has had all of his vet care, including shots, neutering, is heart worm negative, and comes with a 6 month supply of preventative. He weighs approximately 60 lbs.

We took Odie in on a scholarship from a kind sponsor. He’s a one of a kind! Rescued from the streets of Dallas. He was found as a 6 month old pup. He has made a full recovery and would do best in a loving and athletic family. While our darling friend “Mr. B” would love to adopt him, he has stage 4 cancer and is undergoing treatment. We visit him regularly and offer good vibes! 😎 Mr. B had athletic dogs his entire life and loves nurturing Odie’s kindness and sense of adventure!

Odie responds best to POSITIVE enforcement. That means, he is treat and toy motivated. He cannot handle a home with authoritative leadership. This means no demanding commands- we will gladly educate you and provide 2 free handling and behavior sessions!

He will only be adopted to a family with chill and kind vibes! He loves other dogs and jams out well with a happy pack! We do not support dog parks, as many dogs can become bullies and bring out the worse. He knows sit, down, stay, “here,” and many more good dog manners!

Home requirements: Must have a well fenced yard, an indoor place for a kennel, preferably older children, and/or doggy playmate. 🐶🫶🏻❤️

Apparently we are on round 22 of bugs, flies, fleas and mosquitos 🦟 hatching here in hot Texas! Any professional pest control specialists out there? We are having to reapply weekly to control these buggers! What do you recommend??

We saved big girl Candy yesterday from DAS. She’d been described as having a little bit of a ‘tude, but I quickly learned her hiss is how she says hello, while purring and making biscuits and bumping your leg with her head.
She is VERY talkative and opinionated, and can you even handle her little crooked ear and those EYES! 👀

I feel like she needs to go live with someone’s sassy Auntie or Meemaw, and just sit on the porch to complain about squirrels together. Know anyone for Candy??

If you’re not kind and gentle with your pets and don’t want their hearts and tails HAPPY: DON’T call us.

We do NOT subscribe to “alpha” agenda or putting dogs into “submission.” It’s not healthy. It’s not humane. It’s old school and it’s ignorant. Don’t try to manipulate us into supporting this. WE. DO. NOT. If you lie to us about it, your dog will tell us anyway.

DO: Call us if you want to know how to effectively teach your pet new things, have FUN and seamless communication, permanently remove unwanted behaviors, and have your dog love and respect you more than ever!!!

Cold weather can have a significant impact on your dog’s behavior. According to the American Kennel Club, dogs can become more irritable and snappish in very cold weather. The Orvis News also reports that dogs can become bored and destructive in winter due to a lack of exercise and mental stimulation. Contrastingly, dogs can become more easily overwhelmed in social settings in cold weather. It is important to note that different breeds of dogs react differently to cold weather! For instance, Northern breeds like American Eskimo Dogs, Samoyeds, and Siberian Huskies thrive in colder climates, while hairless breeds, toy breeds, senior dogs, and dogs with conditions such as acute or social anxiety, hypothyroidism, Cushing’s disease, or arthritis may become less active or playful during winter months. Short-haired Pit bulls, for example, that are not normally aggressive, can become aggressive when they are cold. If your dog does not like being blanketed, let us help you develop a positive enforced training routine that will help your dog maintain a healthy and warm body temperature! ❤️🙏🏼🐶
