Today was the first time I’ve ever cried at an appointment. Over the last couple years we’ve had a lot of dogs that we have taken care of who have crossed the rainbow bridge… but typically I never hear about it until afterwards when the owner reaches out to let us know. This is Norman, one of my favorite Danes and Norman has cancer throughout his body. Next week Norman’s parents are making the difficult decision to not prolong his suffering. So today I got to say goodbye to Norman and I’m so thankful I did. On behalf of the Nail Down team I want to say THANK YOU to all of you for sharing your PETs with us. We love them!

When it comes to your PETs nails there are many reasons you should choose Nail Down rather than a vet or groomer. But to make it simple… we are the pros and nails are our specialty. This is a dog who the vet told the owners not to worry about the nails that curled because they were too difficult to trim (again let me clarify, this was a dog that the vet had seen and not trimmed the nails which then allowed the nail to grow back into the dogs foot and cause an abscess. Thankfully they called us and we were able to help them out and now this dog is making a full recovery!

Hey Nail Downers! I want to introduce to you our newest team member. This is Daniel and this is definitely Daniels best side! Actually some of you will get to see his face real soon at your appointment, and you and your PETs are gonna love him! Daniel actually worked for me before as a children’s pastor and I’ve been trying to get him to come to Nail Down for 3 years. He recently moved back to the area and we are so excited to have him as a Nail Down Nail Pro.
We love our Nail Pros and we love that you love them too And we always appreciate hearing you brag on them!
“Kelly!! We just had our first appt with Jeriah and I’m sitting here stunned in the best way … you know we have loved every single person who has come out: you, Justin, Tyler. Y’all are amazing and my boys boxer boys get so excited to see y’all. When Jeriah came today I expected the boys to go crazy like they always do, and they did at first. But as he sat with each boy, he talked to them so sweetly; they both sat and had their nails, teeth and ears done without even a peep. I know the term dog whisperer is cliche, but wow. I couldn’t believe it. We are so grateful for you and your team (you find the best people). Thank you for blessing our family and my boys.”

Tomorrow i am going to attempt the 2nd hardest physical and mental endeavor of my life, (the first being breaking the hold that alcohol had on me 4 years ago.)
Judgement Day is a 24 hour mountain bike event, that takes place at 10 different trails and 105 miles total riding distance. This is not a race, it’s a challenge. 3 days before my 48th birthday this will be a challenge. With asthma it will be a challenge. At well above 100 degrees it will be a challenge. The lack of rain has left the trails very sandy so it will be even more of a challenge. Driving between each trail and not quitting will be a challenge. Hydration and nutrtion will be a challenge for me. Cramps will be a challenge for me. Considering it is 3 times farther than my longest ride it will for sure be a challenge.
So now i want to challenge you. Please consider making a per mile pledge or a one time donation to the Recovery Ministry that i lead at Freedom Church. i figured if i was gonna set out to do something that will be so big for me then i may as well try to raise some money for a good cause! Nail Down Mobile PET-icures LLC is looking to hire and train "Nail Pros" for both part-time and full- time positions with flexible schedules. No experience necessary, but here is a partial description.
1. MUST LOVE PETS!
2. Must have reliable transportation. (driving to appointments is required)
3. Can be a very physical job at times. (involves getting up and down off the ground multiple times a day and often being bent over for minutes at a time.
4, Must not be afraid of difficult dogs or cats. (although we take proper precautions, this job does involve sharp teeth and nails)
5. Must not be afraid to get dirty. (PET hair, f***s, urine and a**l glands are a possibility)
6. Nail Pros are paid weekly and there is great earning potential.
7. Paid training.
8. All tools and equipment provided.
9. MUST LOVE PETS!

Our Nail Pros drive hundreds of miles a week to provide a service that is convenient for PETs and for their people and we know this convenience is one of the reasons our clients choose Nail Down.
It will always be our goal to provide our service at an affordable rate and we are in many cases less than what groom shops or vets charge. While many businesses are raising prices or adding a fuel surcharge, we have no plans to do that.
We do however want to encourage you to tip your Nail Pro. In an industry such as ours, it is customary to tip service providers and tips actually make up a large percentage of our Nail Pros income. We love our team and know you do as well, and we want to help keep them on the road… to your house!

Another Nail Down success story! This is Humphrey and before he came to his new home he was found abandoned andtied to a tree. Our first couple appointments were rough and he really fought the process. Basset Hounds are basically large breed dogs on small breed legs, and it makes nail trims very difficult because they are strong too. However his parents trusted the process and scheduled regular appointments and now that Humphrey trusts me it takes less than 5 minutes compared to 30 minutes when we started. If you have a difficult dog when it comes to nails or one that hates to have his feet touched... being comfortable with it won’t happen overnight but it will happen!
How do I spend my evenings? Usually practicing aggressive dog techniques with Little Lottie.
