Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue was born out of a deep love and concern for animals. It began because of the huge need in a community with no city or county animal services. Many times puppies, pregnant dogs, and unwanted dogs are left at our entrance or tied to our gate overnight. They are all in need of a safe place to live and recover from the harsh life of being hungry and homeless or unwante

Do you have a New Year's Resolution? They say most people abandon one by the 10th of January! WELL....Abby has a New Year's Resolution and needs YOU to complete it. Levi is one of the prettiest boys we have at the rescue. His wavy coat and tri color markings are stunning. He is a Collie/Husky mix. He is just as sweet as he is handsome! He was one of 3 saved from being dumped and all were under 3lb . Lauryn spent multiple days at vets but did not make it. The 3rd pup was adopted and is doing great! Levi is now 10 months old old and still looking for a home. Pls help us make his dream come true.

This is Jackie of the Jackson Five. We wish we knew why they were dumped and left without human interaction so long they became feral. It is heartbreaking. Jackie was getting picked on by one of his brothers so now he is alone and we can work to gain his trust. He is beautiful- looks very Chocolate Lab like his sister LaToya. He hides in the corner when we approach but it will just take time. He is the one missing a paw which is so sad. We hope 2025 will be his year to bloom! ( and get a home!)

Happy New Year and Blessings to you all in 2025. This is LaToya of the Jackson Five we saved from abandonment and starvation. They were a feral litter dumped with no hope for a future. Both girls were pregnant and 2 of the 3 boys have injuries. Jackie has a missing paw. 😢 We fed them until we could capture them all. We did not anticipate this major rescue of 5 but we could not turn our backs. Whew! Both girls are now spayed. Some of the 5 are Heartworm positive so they are all on the road to recovery. recovery. HAPPY NEW YEAR DEAR FRIENDS! We have been blessed this year with so many friends and adopters helping to support the rescue but there never seems to be enough. Thank you to ALL who gave yesterday on Giving Tuesday. We are blessed with so many friends that joined this magical movement to help others- especially our pups. This is Janet, one of the Jackson 5 that are our neediest of all right now. She was feral and pregnant but is now spayed and making baby steps with socialization. We work every day to gain her trust. We always need volunteers to help make that difference in the life of a dog like Janet.

Today is GIVING TUESDAY, a GLOBAL day of Giving across all non-profits and across the world! It follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a way to remember those less fortunate including our 4-legged friends in need. This year the TBC pups need you more than ever!

We are currently feeding 78 animals which includes a PACK OF WILD DOGS! How do you turn your back on starving dogs? WE COULD NOT. A few weeks ago, we discovered a stray dog behind our rescue. She was black is all we knew from an initial sighting. We then saw a brown dog poke his head above the weeds and then three more became visible. All five were untouchable but they were starving. We fed them daily and watched and learned their behavior. Within a week, we had them all captured - whew! What a sad life they have had. There are two females and three males, estimated to be about 6-7 months old. It never fails, one girl was pregnant. We wasted no time trapping her and getting her to the Vet. A dog that does not walk on a leash or that is not terribly friendly is one big challenge to get to a Vet but WE DID IT! Two of the three males have injuries but none of them will let us touch them. One is missing part of his paw and the other one limps.
We believe this pack of five are siblings and were likely dumped some time ago. We do not know how they survived but they were terribly skinny, wormy and have lots of injuries. We have named them The Jackson 5 and although they will be a long-term project, it will be a labor of love.
Your gift today will go to help these poor animals get healthy and hopefully accept our love and attention to be able to find a forever home eventually. Their medical bills alone will be in the thousands.

Hank is very thankful this Thanksgiving season. He was dumped and is feeling lucky to be alive and the food is good too! He’s a youngster- about 8-9 months and about 40 lbs. He needs some lovin’! Meet Mr. Bob Barker! He’s a precious 5 yr old Chihuahua/ Dachshund mix looking for a LAP for the holidays and forever! He has lived with kids and cats and prefers to be the only dog. He loves to go for walks. is potty trained and knows a dog door. His foster family says he is a wonderful little guy! He’s affectionate and friendly. Oh…. And he hardly barks at all!!!
