Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue was born out of a deep love and concern for animals. It began because of the huge need in a community with no city or county animal services. Many times puppies, pregnant dogs, and unwanted dogs are left at our entrance or tied to our gate overnight. They are all in need of a safe place to live and recover from the harsh life of being hungry and homeless or unwante

Today, we pause to thank the brave men and women who have served our country, and the loyal K9 heroes who’ve stood beside them. ❤️🐕 From military working dogs who protect and detect, to therapy and service dogs who bring healing and comfort after service, these four-legged heroes remind us that courage comes in all forms.

At Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue, we deeply value our veterans and the special bond they share with dogs. 🏡 Many of our rescue pups have gone on to become loyal companions and emotional support animals for veterans, proving that second chances can change two lives at once. 💛

😃💛Meet Smiley, the Senior Sunshine boy who’s ready for his next chapter! 💛😃Created by Claire Lewis

As the cool November breeze rolls in, Smiley’s story reminds us that even the toughest beginnings can lead to the warmest endings. He was found in a rain-soaked field in the Poetry area, stranded and scared with two other dogs as the water kept rising. Thanks to a kind neighbor and Allan, Smiley got a second chance, and now he’s learning just how good life (and love) can be.

This handsome boy is neutered, vaccinated, house-trained, and great with most dogs and cats. He’s still discovering the power of human kindness, but with a little patience and a lot of love, Smiley will blossom into the loyal companion he was always meant to be. Bonus: he’s got a weakness for hot dogs and a heart full of gratitude. 🌭💛

This month, we celebrate the gray faces, gentle eyes, and wise hearts of senior pets everywhere. 🐾✨We will be featuring some of our Seniors in November. Approved Seniors adopting a Senior dog has a $25 adoption fee.

At Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue, we know that senior dogs often get overlooked, but they have so much love left to give. These pups may move a little slower or nap a little longer, but their loyalty, gratitude, and sweetness run deeper than ever. 💕

Lucy came to us with her sister Jennie after their mom needed surgery and couldn’t care for them anymore. At almost 10 years old, Lucy still has the perfect balance of energy and affection; she’s always up for a walk, a playful run through the leaves, or a snuggle on the couch while you watch spooky movies.

With her big, soulful eyes and heart full of love, Lucy could charm even the grumpiest ghost. This sweet girl is spayed, vaccinated, house-trained, and great with other dogs and children. She’s not a fan of cats (they spook her more than Halloween itself!), but she’s ready to fill your home with warmth, loyalty, and joy.

This sweet girl came to us as part of a big rescue of 12 dogs, and while she started out a little shy, she’s blossomed into a playful, loving adult. Carol Anne is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and good with most other dogs (she currently has a bestie named Fred she loves to romp with!).

She is not just cute, she is also active! Carol Anne loves to stretch her legs and would make a wonderful walking partner for daily strolls or neighborhood adventures. Whether it’s chasing leaves in the yard, going on walks, or curling up for cozy nights in, she is ready to jump into family life.
