Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue was born out of a deep love and concern for animals. It began because of the huge need in a community with no city or county animal services. Many times puppies, pregnant dogs, and unwanted dogs are left at our entrance or tied to our gate overnight. They are all in need of a safe place to live and recover from the harsh life of being hungry and homeless or unwante

Jenny and her sister Lucy were surrendered when their owner’s health declined, but this gentle girl hasn’t let that dim her spirit. At 10 years old, Jenny is the perfect example of why senior pets make the BEST pets: calm, loving, grateful, and ready to enjoy life’s cozy moments by your side.

With her adorable stub tail, big smile, and gentle nature, Jenny is fully prepared for a soft bed, warm blankets, and slow, loving walks on crisp fall afternoons. She is house-trained, spayed, vaccinated, and wonderful with children and cats. The full package of senior sweetness.

She loves being with people, enjoys getting out for a stroll, and is more than ready to be someone’s loyal, snuggly companion during this colder season and every season after.

Dear Friends. We need volunteers for an Adoption Event at Pet Supplies Plus in Fate on Sat Dec 6 from 10-2. You can do a 2hr shift or come and stay the whole time. No experience needed. 😃💛Meet Smiley, the Senior Sunshine boy who’s ready for his next chapter! 💛😃Created by Claire Lewis

As the cool November breeze rolls in, Smiley’s story reminds us that even the toughest beginnings can lead to the warmest endings. He was found in a rain-soaked field in the Poetry area, stranded and scared with two other dogs as the water kept rising. Thanks to a kind neighbor and Allan, Smiley got a second chance, and now he’s learning just how good life (and love) can be.

This handsome boy is neutered, vaccinated, house-trained, and great with most dogs and cats. He’s still discovering the power of human kindness, but with a little patience and a lot of love, Smiley will blossom into the loyal companion he was always meant to be. Lucy came to us with her sister Jennie after their mom needed surgery and couldn’t care for them anymore. At almost 10 years old, Lucy still has the perfect balance of energy and affection; she’s always up for a walk, a playful run through the leaves, or a snuggle on the couch while you watch spooky movies.

With her big, soulful eyes and heart full of love, Lucy could charm even the grumpiest ghost. This sweet girl is spayed, vaccinated, house-trained, and great with other dogs and children.
