Remember these babies? We had a rough beginning as we took them from the unsafe place they were, but had taken them from their mama, who had grabbed one baby and run away. We couldn’t try to catch mama and doom the last baby. So we waited… couldn’t find any help for the babies and so we struggled and did the best we could. After a full week… the last baby was spotted and I scooped her up! After only a few minutes, Mama was coaxed into a carrier and also caught! The little family has been reunited for a few days now and things seem to be going well though we are watching closely. Baby kitties are really fragile and we’re hopeful and in love with this little family… so prayers please! Mama is coming around now and looks for pets and shows her appreciation.
The little orange is a boy and there are 3 little torties (girls). At some point I’ll get good individual pics of them!

Meet Gizmo!
Gizmo has been through an awful lot in the past months… but he’s safe and things will be okay.
We got notified late last night that this little dude was traveling down the road trying not to get hit by cars when a very caring lady picked him up and took him home… her circumstances won’t allow her to keep him so she reached out to us. We asked her to check to see if he was microchipped and let us know in the morning. The good news is that he’s chipped…but that’s where his story begins.
His owner had to give him up. Due to medical issues and her fear that when she passed, her people would take him to the back yard and shoot him. (Seriously?!). So she tried everywhere she could think of and finally found a pet place where there was a lady who would take him. That lady gave her to her adult daughter and granddaughter in OK… but (complicated story) it didn’t work out and he was returned to the mom… who had a lot to deal with and passed him along to a lady at a gas station… and less than 2 weeks later… here he is.
Through pet rescue posts (thank you Pawboost!) and his microchip (thank you Home Again) I found the original owner and the lady who had him in OK reached out to me and I learned this story.
Gizmo will get his vetting pulled up to date and will be available soon for adoption to his forever home. Due to his circumstance, I’m going to be very picky about the stability of the person who adopts him. This needs to be a home with no small children.

Lots going on over here… most importantly…
1. Lucy still needs a forever home OR foster home!
2. Honey needs a forever home!
3. Freya is doing great! Her jaw is healing, she’s eating and everything is normal… except for her cuteness level, which is a 12 out of 10!
4. There was an emergency and I somehow ended up with 3 tiny kittens. I’m working on finding a spot for them. If you are a bottle feeder or want to foster these insanely adorable little critters, let me know!
5. The best part… Abby’s adoption has been finalized! She found a fantastic family and she’s cherished and spoiled. I couldn’t ask for a better outcome for our sweet girl.

Update! It’s a girl! Her name is Freya. She’s healing from a degloved jaw but she’s doing great!

This guy arrived yesterday as well… he has a vet appointment soon but is eating and pooping, so I think we’re okay for the moment… though he hasn’t told me his name yet…

So this little old dude was adopted from the shelter but when they took him to the vet and he had old man issues - they returned him to the shelter. Returned dogs don’t have much time and he was in his last day. His name at the shelter was Roscoe… (ick).
He may have a foster home next week… maybe.
Does anyone have a heart to love on an old guy? He’s definitely got old man issues going on, but old guys need love too!

As I write this, with a broken heart, our shelter has one dog kennel left. We need adoptions now more than ever! ALL adoptions are just $5!!!!!

The shelter opens at 10am.
All dog adoptions include pet vaccinations, spay or neuter, heartworm testing and more. If a dog is in our adoption program, it has been evaluated around other dogs with no negative behaviors seen. If you have another dog at home, we strongly encourage you to bring them with you for an official meet and greet in our play yard.

ADOPTABLE! Lucy is still looking for her forever person. She’s blossoming into a beautiful, sweet girl with tons of personality to match her energy! She gets along well with other dogs and would love a playmate or family (or person) who leads an active lifestyle and wants a beautiful canine friend to enjoy life with.
This girl is crate and potty trained and her disposition is great despite her rough beginnings. She’s healthy and fully vetted and ready to meet you!

Little Miss Abby has officially started her trial adoption. She’s made a good impression on the resident dogs, so fingers crossed for our sweet girl!

ADOPTABLE! Honey is ready for her forever home! She’s all healthy now, her vetting is complete, her house manners are great, and she’s super affectionate. She loves to play with other dogs and though she takes a minute to warm up to new people, she’s a good girl and ready to be friends. She’s even okay with kitties - she wants to be friends! Her recall is good and we’re working on other commands.

Honey came from the mean streets of Houston and was underweight and full of heartworms. She’s gone through her treatment and is a healthy, fun girl. I’m guessing a couple years old.

Do you have room for this sweet girl? She’d love a person to love and hopefully a doggie playmate! Honey is *likely* a sharpie/chow chow mix.

GusGus left us this afternoon. He was gone when I got home from work and the dogs were trying to wake him. I’m broken over this. He was the best boy and my bestest snuggler. I miss him SO much already. He was perfect. 💔🌈

Revy was a special girl. She was born with physical (and mental) disabilities and she was both loving and ornery! …and she could turn from one to the other in 0.25 seconds! She came to me when I was a volunteer with Averting CAT-astrophe and I fostered her for a long while until her forever mama, Susan Knoll came into our lives. She loved Revy at first sight and was determined to give her a good life. Revy went to live with Susan and had the life of a feline princess… as she always believed she was.
Today, after receiving the devastating news that Princess Revy had a complicated, destructive cancer, her mama helped her cross the bridge. This was absolutely the right decision for our girl, but doesn’t make it any easier to lose a loved one. Thank you, Susan, for being Revy’s hero, guardian, and mama. Thank you for loving her through all the challenges that she brought. You were the perfect person for her. …And to Princess Revy… we’ll see you again. 💔🌈
