Hey friends! White Rock Pet Services will be doing a fundraising event for DFW's FurGotten Friends next Sunday. Santa Paws at Pet Supplies Plus on Mockingbird 9am-9pm. DFWFGF has OVER 20 PUPPIES in foster right now and they already have high vet bills to pay off. Can you help us raise as much money as possible to help them out?

We need the following volunteers:
Setting up 7:30am-9am
Santa 3pm-9pm
Someone to print the photos and put them in the folders 9am-3pm and 3pm-9pm
Someone to take money and man the prize wheel table 3pm-9pm
Breakdown 9pm-10pm

It's going to be a cold day but we'll supply coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate and donuts for all the volunteers and we can promise loads of fun!

Due to the overwhelming information regarding the deaths of pets from jerky treats made in China, White Rock Pet Services has established a new policy that we will NOT give treats that are made in China to the pets in our care. There are many healthy, American-made options for pet treats, and we strongly encourage our clients, friends, and fellow pet parents to throw away any treats (especially jerky treats) that are made in China. Dogs are dying in big numbers and the facts are too overwhelming to ignore. This is a case where we must consider what is best for the life and health of the pets in our care.

Thousands of dogs and some cats in the U.S. have gotten sick after eating jerky pet treats. Despite extensive investigations, the cause remains elusive. FDA scientists are broadening the search for the cause by soliciting samples and information from consumers and veterinarians.

I just signed up for a National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) certificate course. There are four available courses: Caring For Senior Dogs, Caring For Toy Dogs, Caring For Parrots, and Feline Behavioral Issues. The courses are $50 for NAPPS members or $75 for non-members. Worth every penny to know how to properly care for your pets or your client pets! I'm doing the Senior Dog course because I have two seniors at home and many more in my clients' homes.

Classes are $50 for members/$75 for non-members, and provide you with 3 CEUs of educational credits toward your re-certification.
