We’re so proud of our Winnie girl for completing her Junior Hunter title! We picked her up today and dropped off her niece, Roux, to start her Junior Hunter journey.

Big thank you to Ryan Middaugh, owner/trainer at East Texas Elite Kennels; we highly recommend them for all your dog’s obedience and gun dog/hunt test needs.

We have decided to find an active, pet home for Winnie, our keeper female from our November 2021 litter- she is 20 months old. Winnie is a very active girl, with a lot of endurance- great hunting/hunt test prospect. Winnie has been through 6 months of professional training- obedience, collar conditioned, force fetch, etc. Winnie was ready to run JH this year, right as tests shut down, in the South, for summer.

Winnie has a full Embark panel done, had a 2023 CAER exam done, both of Winnie’s parents are fully health-tested.

I have videos of Winnie running marks with her pro trainer-pm me and I’ll send them, they’re too long to post.

There are a couple chocolate males available in the N TX area! For SML-reference, Erin and Diane own Mike, a stud we used in the past; they have been in the breed for decades and are fantastic people to work with. Reach out to them directly if you are interested, or pass along their kennel name if you know someone looking for a very well-bred chocolate male from a reputable breeder.

Next month, mid-April 2023, we will have one of these black females, from our 12/2022 Nelli/Louis V litter, available to a pet home. By then, she will have completed all of her puppy vaccines-administered by our vet, dewormed, monthly heartworm prevention, monthly flea/tick prevention, micro-chipped, crate-trained (crate included), and basic obedience/leash training started.

9 week vet visit- all clean bills of health, just like we like. We’re glad black collar is still around, as we still haven’t, 100%, chosen our keeper pup between pink and black.

Puppies patiently waiting for their room service to be completed. They got back-time, probiotics and a scrub down before bed, last night.

After research and many conversations with trainers, our Vet, and some very tenured breeders, we’ve decided SML is officially switching to Royal Canin. We fed Victor for 6 years, but feel it has changed and we saw differences in our dogs we didn’t like, so onward and upward!

It is strange and unhealthy how fixated and in-tuned breeders are with their puppies’ p**p; this current litter was introduced to Royal Canin and we’ve been very pleased with the transition and process.
