Athos was also adopted, and this one is super sweet. The couple that adopted Porthos realized how special he was, so decided his brother should be added to the family as well. Athos and Porthos were playing within 5 minutes of being together again. We're so grateful to our repeat adopters!

TENACITY JUST ADOPTED!!!! Yes, miracles do happen and angels do exist! This is our kitten with severe cerebellar hypoplasia. Less than 12 hours after listing her, we got the most perfect application and here is the happy end result. Her new mom and dad (but he wasn't here) have another kitty and work from home. She has worked with autistic kids so has a soft spot for anything that requires a little TLC. She also has worked with reptiles and horses so quite the animal lover. It was impressive that she had already extensively researched CH cats and made plans for a special feeder and all sorts of sweet things. It was suggested she just come to Tenacity's foster's home and hang out with her a while. She got to see her use the box and stumble out of it, jerkily eat some food, and crash around the room trying to follow her. Nothing deterred her fabulous new mom and off they went. We look forward to updates and knowing how this precious kitten and her precious new family are doing. So happy! Tenacity went from being dumped into a parking garage to having a home with a family that will love her and appreciate her uniqueness. Wow. It's hard to get much better than that!ā¤šŸ˜ø

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: WISHBONE was rescued from a local kill shelter and if we do say so, they broke the mold with this guy. He is as social as he can possibly be and he is very vocal. Do not adopt if you value silence. Wishbone gets along with everything and everyone and all he wants is to be loved on by humans. Honestly, he's unique but in his foster family's opinion, in a good way! If interested in meeting and possibly adopting this weird little guy, to go furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and submit an application. You will be contacted within 24 hours (if not, please check your spam folder).

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: LACY was rescued from a local kill shelter. She arrived at the shelter with a badly mangled rear leg, probably the result of a meetup with a car but we will never know for sure, and it was so badly damaged that it had to be amputated. The awesome shelter manager took her home over the holidays so she could recoup after her surgery, and reached out to FFAR to see if we could take this awesome kitty. Lacy has three legs, but it's tough to imagine what she might be like with four because she is not slowed down in the slightest bit. She's a super sweet cat and gets along great with other cats and dogs. Lacy needs no special care. She can go anywhere and do anything a four-legged cat can go. She is also an orange tabby female, only adding to her uniqueness. If interested in meeting and possibly adopting this pretty and sweet young kitty. go to furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and submit an application. You will be contacted within 24 hours (if not, please check your spam folder).

Twilight adopted yesterday and he's already made friends in his new home. He's now Gomez, and he and the dog are already buddies and we know he and the cat will be too once proper introductions are done. He will have lots of human siblings to cuddle with as well, so he really is one lucky little cat. We're so happy for you Twilight / Gomez!

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: BRILEY was brought into our foster/adopt program shortly after we received this email: "We have recently rescued a dumped cat, we assume, at my mother's apartment. We cannot take care of him as we are at full capacity and we are also in a middle of a move. We have him confined and he is separated from our other animals. We checked him for a chip and he has none and he is not fixed. Is there anyway you could provide assistance." Upon asking for further information about Briley and his personality, we got this: "To say this cat is affectionate is an understatement, he is constantly seeking attention and to be a part of the world around him. We have had to keep him separated from our other cats, and he doesn't show any aggression to them, but they do to him as he is an outsider in their eyes. He loves any attention and does not mind belly rubbed, tail touches, head squishes, you name it. My wife or I have not experienced any aggression from him. The only "aggressive" thing I've seen is if he's not given the attention he wants he will bite (we call this behavior "love nips" and it's very common, especially in young male cats) but it's only happened once. We believe he is about a year or two as he's fairly young and active, but we are not too sure as we have only scanned him for a chip, which he does not have, and has not had a vet check-up as funds are low due to the move. When we rescued him, he ran up to my wife, crying and seeking attention, so he was not a cat we had to corner or trap. He jumped into my wife's lap when she got in the car to determine what he wanted. From the short interactions he has been given, he does not mind cats, and he's had longer interactions with our small dog, who he did not mind one bit."

So that is the backstory and from what we now know about Briley, it totally fits. He came into his foster home and had absolutely zero reaction to the many other cats in the home. He had been fasting for his neuter so his first business at hand was to eat, but after that, what a love! Briley did test positive for FIV but this is no big deal (see note below). Briley is an awesome cat and will make some lucky family a great addition. He can go to kids, dogs and cats and will get along with everyone and everything. If interested in meeting this wonderful cat and possibly adopting, please go to furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and submit an application. You will be contacted within 24 hours (if not, please check your spam folder).

NOTE: Briley is FIV positive, but don't let this scare you! Briley is young and perfectly health, except that he carries this virus. FIV is feline immunodeficiency virus. Cats can live long, healthy lives with FIV and latest research confirms that they do, indeed, live normal lifespans. FIV is primarily transmitted to other cats via bites (must be transmitted through blood) and is not transferred via litterboxes or food bowls. The virus only lives outside the cat for 2-3 hours so it is not contagious to other cats in non-aggressive households. Actually, many people own FIV+ cats and do not even know they carry this virus. It is asymptomatic and unless a blood test is performed, there is no way of knowing if a cat has it. FIV is ABSOLUTELY NOT transmittable to humans or dogs.
