AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - ANOTHER RETURN AFTER 5 YEARS - MEET RAISIN.....
ORIGINAL BIO: Raisin was rescued from a local kill shelter where she had been brought in with her two littermates as a stray. All the kittens were very outgoing and had obviously been around humans (it is very possible that they belonged to the person that brought them in). Raisin has beautiful markings that match her sweet personality. She gets along with cats and dogs, but she especially loves people. Fill out an application and adopt this sweet little lap lover today!
UPDATED BIO: Here we are, almost five years later, and we are now looking for a home for Raisin again. She was adopted with her brother almost five years ago. Within just a couple days, her brother was returned because he didn't get along with the dog (with proper intro, he wouldn't have met the dog yet but we tell everyone that and they do what they do). At that time, there was a dog and six kids in this family, ages 2-11 (three of them four and under) so pretty much covering all kid ages. We got this email recently: "We purchased our cat from your rescue, specifically from the petsmart in McKinney. She does not get along with out dog and after 3 years is not good with young children. We bought her at least 4+ years ago but need her to have a second chance as the pound said they will euthanize. Please let me know if you can find her a home- I have no intention of recouping the cost to purchase Her or our $200 donation to your charity." There was no "donation" to our charity but guessing she means the adoption fee for two cats. Not understanding how she could have lived with six kids and a dog for all those years and suddenly not get along with them, it was explained that they now had a seventh child that was three and Raisin bit this child. But there's more. Then we got this: "If you need pics, she is good with kids if they don’t mess with her. Biting is not of her character and tbh I’ve never seen her hiss before today, but my step daughter did say she did that the other day at *** (7-year-old child's name) before I knew he was teasing her with paper airplanes." We did receive pics of her snuggled up with small children but for privacy reasons, are not posting these. So it's not difficult to imagine she was not happy about being teased by the older child and the younger one got too close. Feel pretty safe to say if she made it five years with seven kids and a dog and never even hissed, she's probably fine with pretty much anything. For her sake, though, no more small children. She's paid her price on that one and we want to ensure she is not tormented by kids in her next home. If interested in this pretty girl and you would like to meet and possibly adopt, please go to furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and submit an application. You will be contacted within 24 hours (if not, please check your spam folder). NOTE: Raisin is now front declawed.
