And so it begins… 2023 deer season. Thought I would throw out some helpful tips regarding the caping of your trophy deer.

What are the most important things to me, as a taxidermist, are armpits… amoung other things.
So often it happens that the Hunter chooses to cape their deer, and cuts the armpits too short  or cut holes in the armpits.
Below is a diagram that illustrates the proper way to cape a deer. Also, here is a picture showing armpits that are just a tad too short, but still workable.
