Our precious rat terrier puppies are born and raised in our Texas country home about 1 hour south of Houston, Texas.

Rat terriers have been a part of our family for many years. They are small but fearless dogs that love their humans more than themselves (at least that is what ours tell us). They are rugged little American dogs that nearly every family had in the 1920's to the 50's. They chased the rats and varmits away around the farm and then snuggled under the covers with the kids to keep them safe and warm at

night. President Teddy Roosevelt is credited with naming the breed that was developed from several terrier breeds, Beagles, Whippets, and toys with Chihuahuas and Toy Fox Terriers. They come in a variety of sizes and colors depending on their heritage around the country. Since 1938 Rat Terriers were registered with UKCI, which is still the number one registry for Rat Terriers today. We have had at least one Rat Terrier as part of our family for over 25 years and they have brought so much joy to us, our children, and our grandchildren that we are now raising registered puppies to share with your families!

Molly is a wonderful first time momma! She does take a break occasionally with her sisters (she is on the far back right enjoying the heater this morning. Rat terriers love to be warm. We keep kennel heaters under every bed and an additional heater with puppies. (No matter what time of year they are born, newborn puppies have a heated pen inside our house.)
