Why structured walks? Dogs are not born simply knowing what we want from them. It us our responsibility to teach them acceptable behaviors. Dogs crave structure because it takes the pressure of deciding away from them. By showing them what we DO &DON'T WANT, we can eliminate anxiety and problem behaviors and become the leader our dogs need us to be. While I am not offering obedience training at this time, structured walks help tremendously with mindset for our dogs. I also have loads of resources and trainer recommendations. Feel free to ask at any time!

So, what would a leash walking session be like?

1st session:
First, I would meet you and your pup at home. I just want to see what we're dealing with and ensure I'm working with a dedicated owner! We will fit your pup in a prong collar.
Then, I will start doing some simple leash exercises and have the owner practice at home.

2nd session:
It is up to you if you want to watch and learn or if you want me to work with your pup at home. We start at home to limit distractions giving us a better learning environment.

3rd session:
We will repeat the exercises again at home, proof the walk and make sure your pup really understands what we're looking for.

After that, whenever the dog has some well established leash manners, we can go on outtings and enjoy walks with a few more distractions. This may take some dogs a little longer than others and that is okay! Work at the dog's learning pace and go from there.

Hi pet parents in the Danville area! I am now offering leash training & dog walking services for my k9 friends! I use balanced training methods and have attached a few videos explaining the matter for those who are curious. What does balanced mean? It means I use rewards to encourage wanted behaviors and safe, humane corrections to discourage unwanted behaviors.

If you want help getting that perfect loose-leash heel and someone to advocate for your dog's space while on the walk, I'm your girl!

I am looking for open minded clients with a willingness to learn and utilize my recommendations.
