The new temporary location for Precision Flyball Training is being setup next week!! I need any and all help - lifting/unrolling mats or taping them will be the big ones. I was going to start unloading what I can Monday and aim to be done by Wednesday lunch for classes starting Wednesday night. Let me know if you can help! Making a small tweak to the Flyball Class Schedule - I have had a lot of reach outs for the Foundations class but people can't make the whole series. You spoke up - I listened.

Foundation Class - Nov 6/13/27, Dec 4/11/18 5:30-6:30pm - Lots of working time, and lots of distractions. We will work on all the flyball skills you need! Puppies and clean slates - of course this is your spot!! Even dogs that have the full pattern down but need help with staying in the jumps, passing, racing, carrying or leaving a ball, etc - this is going to be an awesome class to split the smaller pieces of the puzzle before proofing them. If you have a dog that does it great in practice - but XYZ happens in a tournament - reach out to me cause this might be perfect for you!

This class is ideal for focusing on all the foundation behaviors that are required for Flyball training. Lots of working in group style (not solo unless needed). Have your dog solid with passing, racing, retrieving, learning a turn, and jump commitment before they ever see a Flyball box. I'm excited

𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 ($35/class) - 5:30-6:30 on Nov 6/13/27 and Dec 4/11/18 - This is no longer a 6 class series. Pick & choose.
Sign up for each class to hold your spot. This is the foundations class of my dreams. Great for young dogs, or dogs that are running the pattern but struggling and need more work on a foundational skill (think passing/racing, ball carrying/spitting, jump skipping, losing a turn in a tournament, etc). There will be a majority of group training involving distractions, and not much running of the full traditional pattern.

𝗙𝗹𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 ($35) - 6:30-8:45 on Nov 6/13/27 and Dec 4/11/18.
Follows directly after the foundation class and will be the standard/historical class. You can sign up ad-hoc, you are not required to sign up for all of them. But you can sign up for them all! If you want multiple slots - YOU MUST REGISTER FOR EACH ONE. I will not register you for multiple slots.

October 23 I will open signups for November/Decemebr Flyball classes. They will be Wednesday evenings. Apologize for not having a ton of details to post - moving trucks and boxes are making this a whirlwind time.

Updated 10/24 - 1 slot in Beginner remaining. Teach your dog how to interact with fitness equipment and train your eye for proper fitness form.

Prepare for the winter slump & keep that CanAm conditioning. There are Beginner (1 spot), Intermediate (FILLED), and Advanced (FILLED) Fitness courses - hosted on zoom 1x a week lasting 4 weeks. The small group allows you to get 1 on 1 attention as you work through the exercises, see the details of proper fitness form, and feel confident to create your own training circuits going forward!

Starting the last week of October and finishing up the end of November. Reach out if you have any questions on which class you should sign up for.

I didn’t take many photos so here is my wordy CanAm recap.

Hands down my favorite CanAm so far. Not only was it a smooth and fun time, I have never felt so much pride.

Proud of my teammates for being selfless and always offering to pull their dogs for the sake of the team.

Proud of all the junior handlers running like mini-pros. I can’t wait till my boys join you.

Now it’s time to spend the week moving out of the campground, out of our old house, and into the new house in Goochland. And then open back up Precision Flyball.

𝗙𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 & 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀

These online small private groups of 3-4 people are so much fun. They last 45-60 mins via Zoom 1x a week for 4 weeks. You get the fitness exercises (video and instructions) and have the opportunity to demonstrate proper form under Shelly's guidance. Feel free to work your other dogs during the call when it's not your turn! During the week you can be held accountable and submit videos for review of your exercises (can be a different dog than the one that worked the Zoom class).

The last week of October starts the next round of fitness series (I'm traveling so much in November I'm backtracking to make up time). I'll only be offering 1 class series for each fitness level - so grab a spot to keep your dog in peak shape going into the colder months.

Help Wanted

After meeting PF followers in person, I was overjoyed that you all love seeing the training aspects in the videos I share. So this video will be less short and flashy and longer/informative. Let me know if you have a jump skipper and this gives you any ideas!! Flitwick is an adult dog that had ever piece of Flyball except jump commitment. He would skip jumps going to the box, and most often skip them coming back over jump 5 after his turn. For two months before his B&T his owner worked on my jump commitment series. With the cue and understanding of taking a jump, I could make a consistent plan. Flitwick gets a “Ready, Jump” to go into the jumps. After landing from the box he gets a “Jump” reminder and a clicker “click” landing after jump 5 with a “Yes” and lowering of hand to know he needs to come get his good boy meatball. We also drilled jumping every jump down and back each time we loaded the ball - he was taking jumps in his sleep I’m certain. Consistency is SO crucial for connecting these dots. We proofed releasing from way off center and rewarding off to the side. His owner said he’s made so much progress and has almost perfect sessions. I can’t wait to cheer for him in the lanes!!

Sharing a Huzzah (now 15 months) update. And for those that wanted to see her footage. It’s been a STRUGGLE to work on not crossing at the box. Then it’s been a struggle to not spin/return after jump 4. Slow progression and returning back to the basics again and again has paid off. First time driving ahead AND first time I was brave enough to remove the barriers in the middle. She was running for cookies to ensure she brought her ball to hand. Good job baby Huzzah!!

Blazing Box Turn

I didn’t know a .23 second box turn was possible?!? Who else is running this snappy?!?

Bolt Board & Train

Bolt made an ASTOUNDING amount of progress in two weeks. Another foundations student who polished off his Flyball pattern quickly. To keep the video spicy, not seen is the terrific focus work Bolt does between reps staying with Mary. It’s so hard when you want to be best friends with EVERYONE!! Watch till the end to see this boy really turn on the afterburners when racing.

Junior Handlers

You never know if James will boxload as the Mandalorian or William will let his heart out on his sleeve. Switick boys keep it spicy. Enjoy these laughs.
